The space

Building is in a Rural area and the Barn was renovated a few years ago. This Building is the first of several building to be reclaimed and we have similar restoration works planned into the future.

The immediate area and buildings once had similar homes many years ago. These buildings were known as dwellings for farm labourers and their families that used to farm the lands and in this Barn for example used to be the home of a small family and some farm animals in penal times.

By staying with us you can be satisfied as a contributor that you are helping to preserve a lost community as all proceeds raised from your visit go directly back into the reclaiming of the Village/Farmland.

Guest access

Open access to the Barn

There is a small stream that runs to the side of the premises so visiting children should not be left out of sight for safety.

Interaction with guests

Initially on arrival and perhaps during your visit depending on other commitments etc

Other things to note

Central heating and also a solid fuel stove

We are currently undertaking construction repairs to other adjacent buildings on an ongoing basis to preserve/enhance the farmyard etc. As the Barn is a finished self contained unit these works will not adversely affect you.

Works are intermittent, but and always between 08.00 to 18.00hrs in the summer.

Brian and Jo were at their lovely barn conversion to welcome me and show me around. It is a lovely space to stay in with great kitchen facilities. The multi- fuel stove kept things nice and cosy. Great views too and just a few minutes away from the N24.

Brian's barn was our first accommodation on our south ireland trip. After a call and a good description how to find the barn it was a cozy place to warm up in front of the fireplace. Sofa, bathroom and kitchen were fine. He left some food for a quick breakfast so we could start the day strong.

We chose The Barn because of its location and it was perfect for our needs. Brian was a phone call away if we had any questions. Loved the quietness and seclusion.

Brian was a good host, accommodating with our arrival times and easy to get in touch with when we had difficulties. The space is a living room with a pull-out sofa, kitchen (with an additional sofa), and bathroom -- there isn't a separate bedroom. The pull-out sofa was comfortable enough, the duvet supplied was lovely and warm, and it was nice to have the fireplace/stove there to warm the space. (Even in the middle of the summer it was chilly.) The area is very rural -- make sure to ask for directions, since the place isn't on the map. It's lovely and quiet, exactly what you'd expect from a place that isn't on the map. :) We enjoyed our brief stay overall.

Very good value for money. Brian was away but left food for breakfast in the kitchen and a log for the fire in the main room. I have slept on worse sofa beds. Plenty of DVDs where available. Once the boiler was started it was nice and warm.
