Description

The space

This beloved house was our summer holiday home from early childhood. Despite being a town house it is spacious and airy, spread over 3 floors. On entry, the sunken sitting area with corner fireplace and built in seating and worn stone floor gives the house a warm charm.

The dining area, with original windows and terracotta floors and the kitchen corner, with an electric stove /oven, small fridge, washing machine and small appliances has all you need to cook up a Greek feast.

Wooden stairs take you to the first set of bedrooms. One room has a "tall" double bed and a French door that takes you on the wooden balcony shared also by the twin bedded room. Both rooms are a comfortable size, with ample closet space and share a bathroom with a shower, toilet and basin.

The second flight of stairs take you to the traditional "averto" with a double bed and two single beds, a perfect hideaway for the kids or a small family to sleep together. Double glass french doors take you onto another wooden balcony with views of Skopelos town, parts of the harbour and the hills surrounding the town.

Guest access

The house is rented as an entire house. Sheets and towel are included. Clients are welcome to use the washing machine. Extra cleaning is available at clients request, be settled directly to the house manager.

Interaction with guests

One of our family will meet you at the ferry and take you to the house, a short walk through the pedestrian town. We live in a small cottage on the way to the beach so, should it be needed, one of us is always available for any sort of information. Also, as Skopelos is a small village guests will end up seeing us more than needed! We are always happy to have a chat and give local advice. We do have a local phone number as well as the listed number and will be available when needed.

The neighbourhood

The house is located on one of the many narrow routes through this labyrinthine village. One gets around town by foot, always taking may different routes. An extremely beautiful restaurant, the famous Anna's is a short distance away. They have live music twice a week, very pleasant to hear. Talking nightlife and traditional, Anatolia (located in the castle's ruins at the top of the village) offers breathtaking views and music. Then MIchalis's delicious 'tiropites' (cheese or cream pies) are extremely good for eating there or take away in the morning especially...a must have especially being so close to home...

Getting around

The town is entirely walkable and a delight to discover, with small street and stairways lined with scented flowers and dotted with quaint shops and cafes. Taxis and buses are available, however renting a car or a motorbike may be preferable if you decide to explore the island in depth. Bicycles are available for rent for those sporty people that are up for a challenge. Skopelos offers a vast number of spectacular roads to cycle, both tar and offroad.

Other things to note

3 nights is the minimum stay but We believe that a one week is a the shortest advisable stay at The Mosaic House, not for the number of nights but because the island has so many delights and little secrets that guests will want to discover.

A bientôt.
