The space

We have a guest area of two double bedrooms, a bathroom and a sitting area located at one end of our home. It is separated from the rest of our home by a sliding door. One bedroom has a queen bed and the other has a double, both with double wardrobes. The bathroom has a toilet, good-sized shower and a beautiful free-standing bath in the same room. When guests book one room, the other will not be occupied by anyone else during your stay. Our spaces are probably most suitable for couples and/or singles, however we will consider children.

Guest access

The guest area joins a family room, kitchen/dining area and lounge that can be shared with us. We have decks that enjoy morning or afternoon sun, an expanse of lawn including vege garden and art studio, all of which we are happy to share with guests. Breakfast is supplied, consisting of homemade muesli, fruit and yoghurt or bacon and eggs on toast. Tea/coffee and juice are also available.

Interaction with guests

We are a couple that both work from home so are available to greet you and ensure your stay is a great one. We are happy to interact as much or as little as you like. We have bikes and kayaks that guests may use and are more than happy to share local information and ideas for sightseeing or relaxing, whether it be boat tours, plane rides, bush walks, swimming, fishing, shopping or beauty treatments. One of us is a project manager and the other is a counsellor and flax weaver. If you would like your stay to include a therapeutic component or if you are keen to try your hand at weaving then please discuss with us and we can arrange something to suit you.

The neighbourhood

We love the location of our home. It is semi-rural i.e. we have cows and horses in nearby paddocks, and it is not unusual to see a pheasant, pukeko or a bunny bobbing along, while at the same time Whitianga township and the beaches are easily accessible by driving, walking or riding a bike - depending on your desired level of exertion! The beaches offer a range of surf, quiet bays, surfcasting spots, wharf, boat ramp and jetty and a variety of outdoor activities. Our home overlooks the end of the airfield runway and we love watching small planes come and go - these may include microlights, Cessna, helicopters or vintage hobby planes. Our home is double-glazed so noise is not usually an issue.

Getting around

Our home is 1km from the beach, 1km from the main highway, 3km from town (shops, supermarket, petrol stations, cafes, bars, library etc) and 3km from the airfield office.

Raewyn and Trevor, we can't thank you enough for our awesome stay at your house!!! We loved it so so much. Not only that your home is truly a piece of paradise it is you who made our days here unforgettable. We felt we were home far away from home. We met as strangers and left as friends. You two are amazing!!! We had the best days ever. Your house is just stunning, the rooms are spacious and the bathroom is 5*. The surroundings are beautiful, the beach is close and we loved all the things to do in this area like Cathedral Cove or Hot Water Beach. THANK YOU for all your support and kindness. We'll never forget it!

We were welcomed so friendly from our hosts and the whole house is just amazing. We had lovely chats with them and they gave us so much good tips and helped us with everything. We borrowed shovels for the Hot water Beach and an umbrella&beach towels. The breakfast is fantastic and we will come back as soon as possible!

We loved our stay here. The house is beautiful with huge windows, a wonderful bathroom, and very modern decor. We found it the perfect distance from everything- very close, but just out of things enough to be quiet. Raewyn and Trevor were very friendly and we had a wonderful time chatting and hanging out with them. They were very accommodating hosts. We would definitely stay here again.

Lovely, friendly hosts who made us feel absolutely welcome in their amazing house. Large shared spaces and equally generous private areas set in a large (one acre) quiet plot only around 1km from the town centre and beach. Highly recommended, we will certainly be back.

Fantastic trip away to whitianga. Raewyn and Trevor were extremely welcoming and provided an immaculate space with all that would be required (beautiful interior design). Very generous offering extra things (ie towels, bikes etc) if needed. Would recommend the space highly to others. Close proximity to hot spots of the coromandel, easy pleasant stay and would stay again.
