The space
This is Airbnb's biggest two-bedroom offering in Liverpool – so expect lots of stairs! It's truly a one-of-a-kind four-floor home from home and comes with its own secure entrance (no communal hallways here), its own garden and a cosy living room with Sky TV and Netflix. It dates back to 1835, too, so there’s plenty of old character, period features and even a few creaky floors!

The whole place oozes charm. It’s the beautiful Annexe section of our huge Georgian home. (We live in the larger part of the building, but all living areas are separate, including the entrance.) It's got two bedrooms, three bathrooms, a kitchen and a living room, all spread across four floors (with three flights of stairs) and accessed via a leafy garden path at the back of the building, just a few minutes' walk from Hope Street, where you'll find lots of pubs, bars, restaurants, cafés, theatres and concert venues.

This place is perfect whether you decide to venture out or stay home and chill – everywhere is super-clean, comfortable and well equipped, with a nicely appointed kitchen, a snug living room with Sky TV and two cute bedrooms.

This building was at the centre of the Pre-Raphaelite art scene in the 1860s; it's where the kerosene vaporiser was invented at the turn of the 20th century and Oscar-winning actress Vivien Leigh is rumoured to have undergone electric shock therapy here in the 1950s!

So why not treat yourself to a memorable stay at our charming two-bedroom townhouse in The Georgian Quarter. You won't find anywhere else quite like it!

Guest access
You'll have the whole place to yourselves. It's a self-contained two-bedroom townhouse situated in the Annexe of our Grade II-Listed Georgian townhouse on Falkner Square (the entrance is around the back). You won't find anything else quite like it on Airbnb.

This spacious self-catering property is spread over 900 square feet across four floors, with two bedrooms, three bathrooms, one reception room, a kitchen, a small garden, and views of the Anglican Cathedral from the top of the building.

You'll have your own secure access via Lowther Street, where parking is available.

This place is centrally located yet set back from the bustle – it's a great place to base yourself for your stay in the most historic part of Liverpool.

Other things to note
• We live just next door, in the larger part of the house. You'll see a connecting door but it stays locked at all times, so your privacy is assured.

•  The house has its own entrance that opens on to an idyllic garden path, which then takes you to your own front door via your own private garden. You won't find anywhere else like it in the city.

• The kitchen is extremely well appointed with everything you're likely to need, including washing machine and dishwasher – we've just added a microwave too!

• There's a beautiful Georgian Park around the corner

Neighbourhood highlights

Staying here is like stepping back in time. There's Georgian grandeur everywhere you look, from the period details of the house itself to the amazingly historic Falkner Square Gardens right on the doorstep.

• Liverpool has the most listed buildings outside London, and this is one of them. It's full of beautiful period details inside and out, and it's traditionally where the butler and house staff lived in the 19th century.

• Falkner Square is one of Liverpool's most historic enclaves, and our house is locally famous for being the place where the kerosene vaporiser was invented in the early 20th Century.

• Does the area look familiar to you? That's because this is where much of BBC TV series Peaky Blinders is filmed. This house has played host to numerous film and TV shoots, too.

LIVERPOOL’S FAMOUS GEORGIAN QUARTER

GQ magazine: "The Georgian quarter has top-notch bars, cafes and restaurants that prove the Mersey capital is looking forward to the future."

The New York Times: "Hope Street in the Georgian Quarter is home to many of Liverpool's best restaurants."

The Guardian: "On the outskirts of Liverpool's Georgian Quarter (Liverpool has the most Georgian buildings in the country outside London) is Peter Kavanagh's. The unique pub interior is the result of an eccentric refitting in 1929 by Peter himself. There's a main bar with a mosaic floor, a panelled bar front with a copper top, and a large collection of knick-knacks hanging from the ceiling, and two snugs – in true northern tradition. Each room has a log fire, and the snugs are decorated with magnificent wall paintings."

The Daily Telegraph: "The little known but beautiful Georgian quarter, set slightly back from the river, is one of the best preserved collections of period urban architecture outside London. Reflecting Liverpool's rich past - a fifth of the world's shipping once passed through its port - these houses boast superb proportions and a wealth of decorative features, from cast-iron balconies, doorways and internal shutters, to friezes and panelling."
