Located in a small, friendly community just 7 miles from Cornell Univ. & Ithaca, our 1,200 sq-foot 1-bedroom, ground-floor apartment (called "The Nest") is ideal for 2, but will accommodate a family of 3 or 4. It's bright and comfortable, and you'll love the completely new kitchen and bath w/ huge shower! New 50" TV, cable, internet, washer/dryer, parking also included. We're located on the bus route but it's also a quick and direct 10-min drive to Ithaca and Cornell.
No smoking and no pets. We love cats, but want our place to be pleasant for people who have allergies. People under 21 must be staying with an adult unless you have made arrangements with Chris and Diane first. Additional guests are welcome, but please register them through Airbnb at time of booking.
We can be flexible regarding check-in and check-out times. Please message us if you have questions or special requests.
Diane is married to Chris, a lifelong resident of Ithaca, New York. Diane has lived here since 1987. We both enjoy birds and birding, but Chris is the expert in this field, relying especially on his knowledge of birds calls and songs to find and identify birds. We both work at the Cornell Lab of Ornithology where Diane is a design director, and Chris works for the Bioacoustics Research Program, building and deploying autonomous underwater recording units.
We like indoor cats, craft beers, good wine, birding, and playing dominos. As hosts, we love the Finger Lakes and are happy to help you find good restaurants and interesting and fun things to do while you are here. We'll give you your space, but we will also be available if you have questions or need assistance. As guests, we will enjoy meeting you and learning about the places and things to do that only locals know about. We especially like natural areas, local restaurants that specialize in regional food, and stores that feature local and handmade items.
