Of the four places we stayed on the Big Island, this was the most luxurious by far. And it's hard to imagine a better place to stay in Volcano Village. Just a 3-minute drive to the VNP entrance (we timed it), and a few minutes' walk to the few eateries/stores in the village, which are modest (Thai Thai, Lava Rock Cafe) but they do the trick. The expansive, spotless house has a HUGE landscaped front yard, with a wide front lanai, where it's relaxing to enjoy the view with your morning coffee or evening wine. I especially liked the comfy, firm king bed in the quiet master suite, ideal for snuggling under the puffy covers on the blessedly cool Volcano nights (4,000 feet elevation). The big kitchen was great for cooking and the back lanai looked over a beautiful tropical garden. Plus, great to have a washer/dryer. If you go out on foot at night you will need a flashlight, but there isn't much traffic and it's very safe. The rental included such extras as shampoo, detergent, condiments, wood for the wood-burning stove (which we didn't use), etc., so it was easy to buy some groceries and quickly settle in. (Note: The local grocery store was adequate for basics but not full-service, so if you need specific items, pick them up in advance in Hilo or Pahoa.) We never met Jeff but access with a key code was very easy. In short, if we ever return to Volcano we would definitely stay here again.

Jeff and Cathy home is wonderful, and exactly as described. They provided great directions to the property and details of access via a coded lock. The beds were comfortable and clean. They also have a great kitchen filled with every utensil we needed to cook up a feast. Location is close to the National Park entrance and trips to near Hilo for early morning tours were an easy drive. A lovely lounge area and porches at the back and the from of the property were great. The outdoor table was clean which is a good indication of a cared for home as they gather dust so quickly! Plenty of information about Volcano, tours, and Hawaii. Thank you for a wonderful stay.

A very nice secluded place. It was very close to Volcano National Park but not on a main road. There are a few restaurants nearby (we walked about 7 min to the Lava Rock Cafe , which was very good). Would definitely stay here again.

Jeff was extremely responsive to my questions in advance. We felt at home at the villa. The hot cocoa and oatmeal provided were helpful starts to the morning since bigger grocery stores are a bit of a drive. We enjoyed making a fire on a rainy evening. The grounds are beautiful. The house was clean and cozy. It was a great place for our family to recharge our batteries and explore the southern part of the island.

A wonderful house in a great location! It was nice to be so close to Volcanoes National Park and the small cafes/restaurants. We could easily go back to the house after hiking then return to the park at night. The beds were super comfortable and the house was a nice size. Very well maintained property.

This house was perfect for our family of five for visiting HVNP. We traveled to three different islands, and this was by far my favorite house we stayed in. The house was cozy, and was perfect to come home to after our hiking and adventures. Thank you for sharing your little piece of heaven with our family!
