The neighbourhood

Great location and close to several Universities and Parks:
The apartment is located next to St Nicholas Park, 15min walk to Central Park or Hudson River Park (Riverside Dr), close to Columbia University (17min) and City College of New York (10min).

The neighborhood:
The hip Harlem location features an array of local bars and restaurants. From French at Maison Harlem on W127th Street around the corner (great for brunch and dinner) to BBQ at Harlem BBQ or Mexican at Lulu's Taqueria on W123rd Street and Manhattan Ave to the famous Red Rooster, with live jazz nights on Malcolm X Blvd and 125th St or the great soul food kitchen of Sylvia's on W 126th and Malcolm X Blvd are all great restaurants and local hang out spots. Or if you enjoy to cook at home there is a Keyfood grocery store on W125th within a 5min walk; or the "Best" supermarket on W118th Street right next to a Starbucks on Frederick Douglas Blvd.

Getting around

A 5min walk to express and local trains and buses on W125th Street:
Express A & D trains, local B & C, B60 Bus to LaGuardia Airport. You can be in midtown (Times Square/ Rockefeller Center) in 15 minutes and downtown in 20 minutes. The Metropolitan Museum of Art is only 20 minutes away by train and bus.

La Guardia airport by Taxi will take you 25 minutes and is relatively inexpensive (about $35), but the bus (B60) is even cheaper ($3) and just a 5min walk to the apartment.
From JFK Airport you can take the A-line (Howard Beach Subway Station) straight to my place or the E-line from Jamaica Station. Cost $8

I can only say good things- this is a great place to stay! The room was clean and cosy (just the way it looks in the photos), the wi-fi worked perfectly and the location is amazing- it only takes 10 minutes to get downtown (10 minutes via subway to Times Square). The host was very helpfull and wellcoming. She gave me the most precise and useful information and tips about traveling through the city and everything worth seeing.

Tine was a great hostess, she was very kindly. Her apartment was very comfortable, we could use the implements and food of her kitchen. Also, it was very close to central park. We really enjoyed staying at her place!

Really nice room and living room area. Kim is the nicest person ever and you won't regret staying here. Even though she was in Europe she was very communicative and provided us with everything we needed to make our stay comfortable. She responded promptly to every message and genuinely cared about making things as easy as possible for our stay. There is also a laundromat less than a block away and a supermarket just outside the complex, so all our essentials were covered. Its also just a two minute walk to the subway exit so we could get anywhere we wanted.

Very nice place to stay, good location, close to city centre. There is only one problem - the room is pretty hot, even outside is colder. Ordinary ventilator would help.
