The space
Great Office is a truly unique building which has been an important part of Helston's history for over 300 years. It has been a bank, registry office and solicitors office during its long history.
A popular area to film Rosamund Pilcher stories. Please visit us to find out more!

Guest access
There is plenty of space to store bikes, buggies and other equipment.
Wetsuits can be hung to dry.
Parking is on street or nearby but you can load or unload at the door.

During your stay
I will be available at all times except while walking our dogs.
I love to interact with my guests over breakfast, finding out where you’re planning to visit or discovering new places that you found. Breakfast can, however, be served on a tray to have in your room if you prefer to distance, or if the weather is warm you can use the courtyard, kitchen or lounge which has a large dining table. I will have the windows open as much as possible to allow fresh air and virus safety.

Other things to note
Helston is a very picturesque market town with all the amenities that you would expect including restaurants, pubs, supermarkets, cinema, museum, the famous Blue Anchor pub, boating lake and playground. Superb walking and cycling through coastal paths and the Penrose Estate.
Our local harbour, Porthleven is 2.5 miles away and also has a great many attractions, lovely beaches and renowned restaurants.
Our Museum is located just around the corner from us and is well worth a visit (it’s much larger than it looks).
Helston is very well situated to explore the whole of Cornwall all areas being easily day trips distance.

Neighbourhood highlights

Penrose National Trust land with all associated walks is minutes from Great Office and goes all the way to the beach and Porthleven.
We are well placed for exploring, St Michael’s Mount, The Minnack Theatre, St Ives and of course the Lizard are all within day trip distance. I thoroughly recommend a boat trip for a different viewing experience too.
The nearby seal sanctuary is well worth a visit too.

I’ve travelled a great deal in the past & lived in Asia for about 4 years. I no longer wish do that because I really can’t leave Cornwall or my dogs anymore. I still love to meet people from all over the world and hear about them and where they’re from. Over 9 years that I’ve been hosting, I have discovered a great deal about Cornwall itself from my guest’s adventures. We love to chat over breakfast if you like and happily offer day trip advice
