No better views of the sunset over Seneca Lake from the porch of the cottage or the over-water deck. The cottage is secluded on 500' of private shoreline. Fully furnished, full kitchen, wi-fi, laundry, hiking trails. Kayaks and day-sailer provided.

Fall asleep to the sounds of the lake lapping against your own private shoreline.

The space

No better views of the sunset over Seneca Lake from the porch of the cottage or the over-water deck. The cottage is secluded on 500' of private shoreline. Fully furnished, full kitchen, wi-fi, laundry, hiking trails. Kayaks and day-sailer provided.

The cottage is secluded within a ravine that has been created over thousands of years. There is a creek running alongside that empties into beautiful Seneca Lake. The property is nestled in a woodland of hemlock, pine, ash, oak, cherry and hickory trees.

The cottage boasts a full kitchen, dining room, laundry, free 30 Mbps wi-fi, a computer for guest use, tv for watching movies, a front porch for enjoying a nice bottle of local wine at the end of a day on the lake or enjoying all that the Finger Lakes has to offer.

There are two bedrooms and one bathroom. The master bedroom has a queen size bed with a lakeside view. The extra bedroom has a full bed with a view of the woods.

There are 4 kayaks and a Sunfish sailboat available for guest use. Life vests are available as well.

500' of private shoreline is adjacent to NY State Willard Wildlife Management Area (WMA) which stretches for another 1/4 mile. Hiking trails and wildlife encounters (deer, turkey, coyote, fox, American bald eagle, red tailed hawk), abound on the property and in the adjacent WMA.

The private dock stretching out from the front yard has a top deck, which doubles as a two hole putting green, a bottom deck suitable for outdoor dining and sunset gazing, and extends out to a depth that is safe for diving into the cool waters of Seneca Lake.

We will meet you when you arrive and provide directions via phone if you get turned around. We will give you a quick tutorial on the cottage so you'll know how everything works. We live on the property, but you'll barely know we're there as we respect your privacy.

We're just up the hill and we are available any time for recommendations on things to do in the Finger Lakes, from the best local wineries to taste, restaurants to visit, and events happening during your stay.

Peace and quiet. That's what you can expect when you stay at the cottage. The cottage itself is very secluded from the sparsely populated neighborhood. (4 other homes). It is 1 1/2 miles from the nearest county road, which is buffered by a dense woodland and an Amish farm, so there is no road noise.

State land borders the northern boundary, and except for an occasional picnicker on the state beach, you'll rarely encounter anyone.

The cottage is centered between the cities of Geneva to the north and Watkins Glen to the south. That is where most of the boat traffic resides. You'll feel like you own the whole lake.

Although your retreat is private and quiet, you're just a few minutes from live music at many local wineries every weekend night. The college towns of Geneva (Hobart & William Smith Colleges) and Ithaca (Cornell University & Ithaca College) are close by if you're looking for the energy that accompanies a college town. Of course you're only a half hour from world famous Watkins Glen Motor Speedway, which has races just about every weekend during the racing season. The newly opened Del Lago Casino is only 30 minutes away in Tyre.

You'll need a car to get around the area. Although 2-wheel drive vehicles negotiate the steep driveway down to the lake with no problem, you might feel more comfortable with 4-wheel or all-wheel drive.

4th of July fireworks on the western side of the lake can be seen for miles from the dock.

We stayed at this lakeside property during our Labor Day annual trip to the Finger Lakes - it's probably the best one we've stayed in yet! Kenny and Linda were absolutely lovely hosts. They greeted us upon arrival and made sure we knew where everything was to make our stay as comfortable as possible. The house is very well appointed - linens, cooking supplies, basic toiletries , non-motorized water sports, an herb garden and tomato plants and a great fire pit. The house also has great wifi - the best of any property we've rented in the Finger Lakes - which meant we were able to stream Pandora and ESPN during our stay (using our Comcast log-in - the house doesn't have broadcast or cable). The house is truly lakefront and is located down a gravel road (the hill to reach the house is a bit steep - we were glad we had an SUV). Very private and quiet. Kenny and Linda are just up the road if you need anything during your stay, but weren't intrusive in any way. While visiting we enjoyed the nearby wineries and breweries and spent the evenings watching the sun set from the dock and around the fire pit making s'mores. It was a perfect stay and we wouldn't hesitate to rent from them again!

Kenny & Linda do everything they can to ensure a good time is had by all. The location is perfect; on the water, secluded, close to everything. The place is neat and clean, they have kayaks and a fire pit with ample wood. Fishing rod, towels, water shoes...really, they have everything. I feel like I could have packed just a swimming suit and been just fine. We were sad to leave and cant wait to go back! By far the best place we've ever rented.

Best vacation spot ever! This is a great place to get away from it all, in a beautiful lake setting and a super cute cottage. If you like to go kayaking in the morning with no boat traffic, this is the place for you. If you just want to read or take a nap on the covered dock, this is the place for you. It is so peaceful! Kenny and Linda were great hosts. They were very attentive, but not intrusive. The cabin is truly fully furnished... even down to sunscreen if you forget to bring your own. Don't worry about bringing beach towels, they have plenty. The wine rack, stocked with local selections (at discount cost) was a nice touch and much enjoyed. Fresh baked goods, jams, eggs, and vegetables in season can be ordered at low prices from a local Amish family. The cinnamon rolls were yummy! It should be noted that the stairs up to the loft bedrooms are steep... not a problem unless someone has physical limitations. Great vacation place and great folks. Highly recommended!

Kenny and Linda were great hosts. They paid attention to all of our needs. The cottage was cozy and had great views of the water. Sunsets were spectacular! We started our day with coffee on the deck and ended our day with wine on the dock. It doesn't get any better than that.

Linda and I consider ourselves extremely blessed to live on beautiful Seneca Lake in the heart of the Finger Lakes in upstate New York. As Aquarians, Linda and I have always been drawn to the water and can't imagine living anywhere else. We're both retired career Navy and have lived all over the world. But nowhere that we've visited or lived compares to the place we've chosen to spend the rest of our lives.

Although a voracious reader, Linda finds time to paint, decorate, and garden. I nurture an affinity for woodworking and building. Our current home, surrounded by hardwood and softwood trees, feeds these passions.
