The space

Nestled in the historic 'uptown' neighborhood where the the first pioneer families settled, Cocopah Cottage has been restored to pristine condition. Located at 325 Smith Road, you'll feel you've arrived at Sedona of the 1930s. This house is for someone who wants authenticity, a taste of Southwestern history and to feel truly at home in ‘old’ Sedona. It’s a five minute walk to all shopping, dining, and entertainment, ten minutes to hiking trails, and an hour and a half by car to the Grand Canyon.

The cottage has a red rock stone foundation, a flagstone patio and garden, two bedrooms, one full bathroom, one three-quarter bathroom, kitchen, living room upstairs, and a downstairs game room. There is off-street parking for your vehicle. The sunny living room has a large working red rock fireplace, antique oak furniture, rocking chair, leather easy chair, 32 inch flat screen TV, Bose wave radio and CD player, library of contemporary fiction, Southwest and Native American history. A collection of Southwestern art and antiquities give the cottage a warmth and sense of history hard to find in Sedona.

The country kitchen is reminiscent of an old farm kitchen with its original oak floors and cabinets. Features include a gas stove, microwave oven, washing machine and dryer, coffee maker, toaster, cast iron skillets, and stainless steel cookware. Silverware and dishes for eight are furnished as well as placemats, napkins, towels and cleaning supplies.

The master bedroom has original oak floors and a new queen-size sleep number bed with brass headboard and antique furnishings. An assortment of bedding includes cotton sheets, flannel sheets, down comforters, and patchwork quilts. The second bedroom has a double bed, ample closets and en suite bathroom with tub.

Two outdoor patios contain table/chairs/umbrella and gas barbecue.

My family loved our stay at Ann's cottage! It's roomy, decorated beautifully, clean, comfortable and the location is amazing! It is easy to walk to Uptown Sedona. Ann gave us several tips about great places to eat. Make sure you visit Tlaquepaque for some great shopping & terrific food. Also stop at Ann.s store, Cocopah. We bought some wonderful jewelry there. We enjoyed getting to know Ann & hope to return to her cottage again.

Ann's house is clean, cozy and convenient to the downtown area. Also nice off road parking area in front of the house and a nice fenced in patio.

Ann called me when I was on my way to Sedona to verify my arrival time. Then, she met me at the cottage to give me the keys and show me around. The property is wonderfully located in Uptown Sedona, walking distance to so many things. I loved staying there.

We had a great eat experience. This was a very comfortable and clean little vacation house located very conveniently for everything we wanted to do/see: hiking, playing in creeks, restaurants, day trip to Flagstaff, Indian ruins...

We had a great stay at Ann's cottage. She met us just as planned, with some cold beverages in the fridge. Everything worked well and the photos were a perfect match to the lay-out. We loved the private patio, using it for grilling, sunning, some dining, star-watching and bird-watching, but my favorite place to sit in the heat of the day was the rocking bench on the covered porch. Yes, it was hot, but dry heat in the shade - best kind of summer heat! The blue sky and red rocks in view, bird calls, hummingbird activity all made it a great place to read. We loved the location. We took morning and evening walks through the uptown neighborhoods and to nearby trails. Our favorite coffee spot was a leisurely five-minute walk (HP Cafe). As for driving, the cottage has a big parking area with plenty of shade and quick easy access to highways 89A and 179, so Oak Creek Canyon and all those red rock trails and art shops are minutes away. Additional things: great windows in the huge living room with comfortable (firm) long couch and side chair; so many hangers in the closet; ample spices, cookware and dishes; reliable wi-fi and appliances; explanatory labels on all the remotes. We are used to a king-size bed, and though my husband was too long for the bed in the back bedroom, the queen sleep-number bed made for a perfect night sleep. (Both beds - nice and firm - were comfortable for me at 5'5".) We always bring our own pillows so didn't use Ann's.
