Interaction with guests
I am currently studying and also working a part time job and therefore usually very busy.
I am living next to door to Sólbakki and should be able to meet you upon arrival - however if this is not possible then I will make alternative arrangements for someone to meet you with the key.
I have worked for over 20 years as a tour guide in Iceland so if you want private tours or trips then we can discuss this, again depending on my availability.
Please note that if you are staying at the house without a car then it takes approximately 15 minutes to walk to Gríndavík and the nearest local bus service and shops - the bus service in Gríndavík runs about 3 times a day and I will leave a copy of bus schedule in the house.
Other things to note
If you wish to buy alcohol then it might be a good idea to do this at the airport.
Please note that it is only possible to buy alcohol at the Vínbuðin shops which usually close around 18:00 and are not open on Sundays.
The Vínbuðin in Gríndavík is open 14:00 - 18:00 Mon - Thurs, 12:00 - 18:00 Friday and is closed on Saturdays and Sundays
It is not possible to buy alcohol in the supermarkets except for low alcohol pilsner.
No smoking inside the house
In Iceland it is customary to remove your shoes inside the door and do not wear them inside the house.
Please report any spillages or damage.
Please leave the house as tidy as possible.

I love life and especially love nature - I live right next to the ocean in a little community not far from Grindavík (which is about a half an hour car journey from Reykjavík and 20 minutes from Keflavík airport).
I feel very blessed to be living here and sometimes have to pinch myself to believe i live in such a peaceful and beautiful area.
I have worked for over 20 years as a tour guide in Iceland and prefer to visit, walk and camp in the more remote areas of Iceland .
I am also passionate about photography and I am currently on a 3 year photography study.
When I have time I enjoy to watch a movie (Babette’s Feast is one of my favourites) or to read a good book - I love the book which is the biography of Van Goph’s life.
Travelling has been a big passion in my life also. I have visited many of the European countries, lived in Canada been in the USA but one of the highlights of my travelling experiences was when I volunteered in Mozambique for 6 months.
For the last 25 years I have lived with my wife who is a wonderful woman. She is an artist who makes amazing art and sculptures which have been exhibited throughout Iceland and in overseas countries.
I am vegetarian and also have 2 dogs and 1 cat.
I feel I am open minded person who loves to help others and to have a good laugh.
