A lovely room in the heart of Camden Town, near the market and its shops, restaurants and nightlife. We're less than five minutes from the Roundhouse. Plenty of tea, coffee and biscuits and excellent WIFI. Ten minutes from the West End by bus or Tube
A lovely double room in a historic Georgian house in the heart of Camden Town. Light and airy, the room is complete with a double bed, wardrobe storage space and WIFI. All bed linen and towels are provided, with use of the bathroom and kitchen. We have a good range of tea, coffee, herbal tisanes, organic milk and a well stocked biscuit tin which you are most welcome to help yourself to. We do have a cat, so if you have allergies, please be aware of this.
Busy and vibrant Camden Market is just at the end of our road, with all the shops, music venues and restaurants it has to offer, and you can also be in the centre of town in less than fifteen minutes using the 24 hour bus service that stops just outside our house. This bus will also take you directly to the British Museum, Covent Garden, Soho, Leicester Square, Trafalgar Square, the Houses of Parliament and Westminster Abbey.
From the St Pancras Eurostar we are easily reached using the 46 bus, the journey is only around ten minutes, and there is a choice of two tube stations, Kentish Town or Chalk Farm, both on the Northern line.
The room is suitable for a single person or a couple. The room, which overlooks the garden, is quiet and peaceful, and you are very welcome to use the garden if you wish to smoke. We have a selection of maps plus an European adaptor plug – we can also lend you an umbrella!
We are an Anglo French couple; Christophe works in property development and is a former journalist, and Christine is a lecturer. We're both lovers of ancient history and travel, and are an easy going couple.
The living room is private space.
The borough of Camden has so much to offer, with busy Camden Market just at the end of our road. If you'd like to explore a bit further afield, here's a small selection of places that are easily accessible from our house:
Camden Market –quite possibly the most fashionable, diverse and exciting market in the world, and best of all, it's at the end of our road!
Concerts – you’re spoilt for choice here, with KOKO, the Proud Galleries and the Barfly just a five minute walk from the house.
The British Museum– Home of the Parthenon Frieze, a fabulous Egyptian gallery, and a diverse range of exhibitions; best of all, entrance is free.
Atlantis Bookshop– London’s oldest esoteric bookshop, frequented in the past by occult luminaries Aleister Crowley and Gerald Gardner. Located just around the corner from the British Museum.
Covent Garden Market– Formerly a fruit and vegetable market, this is now a fashionable and exciting place to visit with wonderful boutiques, street performers and restaurants.
Hampstead Heath/Primrose Hill – For lovers of the great outdoors these are London’s greatest parks. Hampstead Heath also Houses Kenwood House, home to stunning works of art and open air concerts in summer.
Art – The National gallery and the Portrait gallery are in Trafalgar square and boast collections that are unrivalled. Entrance to both is free.
Buckingham Palace– don’t miss the Queen’s home, and if the flag’s flying on top of the palace, it means she’s in residence! The Palace is bounded by St James’ park which is lovely in summer.
Whitehall/Houses of Parliament/Big Ben – The seat of power and the stunning architecture of Augustus Pugin. Tours of the building are popular.
Westminster Abbey– The traditional coronation site for England’s monarchs and final resting place of many. Also the location of William and Kate’s marriage!
Temple Church –the Knights Templars headquarters and film location for the Da Vinci Code.
The London Eye –For a unique view of this vibrant city book a ‘flight’ on the London Eye. On a clear day you can see for miles, and a favourite location for those brave guys hoping to propose marriage!
Oxford Street –On the location of an old Roman road, it is now the busiest shopping street in Europe!
Paramount Bar –Michelin starred restaurant situated atop one of London’s tallest buildings, with fabulous views over central London.
Fortnum and Mason’s– Stylish and sophisticated, the food hall is a must see. Afternoon tea is a real treat -- note the Royal warrants outside the store.
We are well served on the Tube, with Chalk Farm and Camden Town tube stations just a short walk. Both are on the Northern Line. Buses are plentiful with many operating a 24 hour service.
Kentish Overground (train) is located within Kentish Town Tube station, and from here you can catch a train to Luton airport, and also to the south coast, to places such as Brighton.

Two guest maximum and all under 18's must be accompanied by an adult taking into account the two person maximum. Please do not bring people back to the house.
No third party bookings.
Check-in is after 10:00, no earlier than this please. If we have a guest checking out on the day of your arrival, check-in will be after 13:00 in order to allow us to make your room ready. Check-out is midday.
Nous sommes un couple Franco-Britannique. Christophe, anciennement journaliste, travaille à présent dans la promotion immobilière, et Christine est professeur / enseignante. Christophe parle couramment le français et l'anglais, et Christine, l'anglais. Nous sommes tous les deux amateurs d'histoire antique et de voyages, et nous sommes un couple facile à vivre / sympathique. Christine est Londonienne de naissance, elle a été élevée dans le / est originaire du quartier historique de Covent Garden et par conséquent, connaît Londres comme sa poche. Si vous voulez visitez un endroit et ne savez pas exactement comment vous y rendre, Christine le saura. Elle saura également vous indiquer le chemin d'endroits peu ou pas du tout fréquentés par les touristes. Nous pouvons vous fournir une carte de la ville, ainsi que les renseignements nécessaires au sujet des cartes Oyster (cartes de transport rechargeables pour bus/métro), des tickets de bus, et des vélos Boris, pour ceux qui aiment faire du vélo.
