Our 2 bedroom, eco-friendly flat offers comfort, style and convenience in a peaceful, quiet suburb close to the city. With all the comforts of home: a full kitchen, modern bathroom, current technology, comfortable beds & the added charm of vintage decor, it is ideal for both long & short stays. Having lived in Wellington since 1988 (except for 4 years on a diplomatic posting to Washington DC) we enjoy welcoming guests to our capital city & aim to make your stay here as perfect as possible!

The space
Our cozy, warm apartment has central heating with free WIFI via a fast optical fibre network. We strive to be eco-friendly by providing as many zero-waste options as we can to help care for the environment. The apartment consists of two bedrooms, a bathroom, full kitchen, and living/dining room with up to date electrical appliances and amenities.

- DINING & LIVING ROOM
The entry opens into the dining and lounge area with its couch, armchairs, table & chairs, and a 39″ HD TV with incorporated DVD player.

- KITCHEN
The kitchen has an espresso machine, milkshake maker, fridge/freezer, microwave, stove/oven, electric kettle, toaster, electric wok, electric frypan etc.. Tea, coffee, milk, and sugar are all provided along with basic breakfast foods such as fruit juice, bread, butter, honey, breakfast cereal, and a selection of fresh fruit. You'll need to replenish these yourself if you run out! A good selection of plates, bowls, cups and glasses are available.

- GOLD BEDROOM
This bedroom has a comfortable Queen sized bed, along with bedside cabinets, a small desk and stool, and a cabinet to place luggage on. On the nightstand is a radio/alarm with phone charger and USB ports. In the double closet/wardrobe are 2 fold-up suitcase racks, an iron & ironing board, pedestal fan, bathrobes, and additional pillows & blankets.

- WHITE BEDROOM
This bedroom is smaller than the Gold Room and contains a double/full sized bed, with a bedside cabinet, 2 bentwood chairs, and a dressing table, along with a built in single closet/wardrobe. In the wardrobe is a folded suitcase rack, bathrobes, blankets & pillows. On the nightstand alongside an alarm clock is a USB charging hub. A tower fan is in the room over summer.

- BATHROOM
The bathroom has a modern shower, vanity unit, heated towel rail, and toilet. In the vanity unit is a hair dryer. We provide Ecostore shampoo, conditioner, bodywash, soap and body lotion.

- LAUNDRY
Our laundry is accessed by a door on the garage that you pass on the way to the flat/apartment entry door. It has an AEG washer and dryer along with places to hang washing indoors or there is a clothesline at the back of the apartment. The laundry is shared with our family, so if you are staying for more than a couple of nights, we allocate days when you have sole use of the laundry area.

We are located in the charming suburb of Churton Park in Wellington, just 12 minutes drive to central Wellington and the ferries. Although close to Wellington’s CBD, our neighbourhood has semi-rural views. You can sometimes hear the sheep and cows in the distance, as they graze on the nearby hills.

The local Churton Park Village shopping centre (built in 2012) is just around the corner from our flat, less than 5 minutes walk away (or under a minute if driving!). The Village includes a supermarket, post office facilities, ATM, pharmacy, cafe, gift shop, beauty clinic, hairdresser, medical centre, fish and chip shop, and Indian food take-out.

The apartment, although adjoining our house, is situated so that our guests have privacy from our home. However, if you would like any help or sightseeing suggestions, or just want to chat with someone local, then Lynette is usually home, just a door away! We enjoy meeting new people and would be delighted to help you! :-) At the same time we don't want guests to feel obligated to interact with us if they don't want to - you will be staying in your own private and separate apartment and not in our home, so it is totally your call how much interaction you have with us. We usually welcome you in person, and farewell you at the end of your visit.

For those relocating to New Zealand to live, we can offer advice on suburbs to rent in, where to look when buying cars, and where to buy things for your home - we want to help you quickly feel at home in your new city/country! We have put together a relocation booklet for this purpose, which we will give you on arrival, or if you prefer, we can email it to you in advance.
