Our house has two beautiful courtyards and a terrace which are perfect for sunny days.

Must LOVE dogs. We have 2 very friendly rescues that roam freely around the house.

Make sure to check out the other Casa de Stela listings if this room is booked for the dates you're in town! We have 5 rooms listed on airbnb

The space

--------------------------------------

Our house has some really cool unique features that you are going to love about spending time here! The house was originally a charming little hotel and is set out as such with private rooms and open communal areas. Each of the 6 rooms has an its own bathroom and can be as private as you'd like it to be. Our two beautiful communal courtyards are just perfect for sunny afternoons and we also have a gorgeous terrace that wraps around the home where you can enjoy great views of the volcanos.

The very front of the house is a storefront that is open to the public. We have a small cafe, El Secreto run by Jo and the Stela 9 boutique there. Hours are 8am-5pm everyday.

Guest access

Guests can access the courtyards, the large terrace and kitchen. The smaller terrace is private. Please be respectful to other guest and their space and remember that this is a home, not a hotel 3

Interaction with guests

We are in the house mostly everyday and will be more than willing to help and advise you with your stay with us the best we possibly can! You'll have a list of Jess' shopping, restaurant and bar recommendations in your room upon arrival. This being said, please be mindful of both Jess and Jo's time. We run two businesses and on Tuesdays we have the pop-up restaurant, so if we seem busy (we probably are). If you need help planning your trip further we can always recommend great travel agencies in town!

Other things to note

TACO Tuesday every week from 6-9pm which is open to the guests and the public.

Boutique and smoothie bar are open everyday from 8am-5pm.

Two adorable, friendly dogs that roam the house freely.

Laundry is available for Q40 per load

+++ Rainy season in Guatemala starts in April and ends in November. If you come during this time, please be prepared for occasional humidity in the rooms and mosquitos. All of Antigua is like this, no matter where you stay because we are in the Tropics. This means that there will occasionally be mosquitos and humidity. We do our very best to keep the mosquitos away and out of our gardens and we use a dehumidifier in the rooms. We have one plug-in dehumidifier that rotates between rooms during cleanings. If you feel like your room is particularly humid, please ask to use it.

Lovely place to stay. The location is centrally located near the town square. The host was accommodating and available. The breakfast was great. You also will want to have a smoothie. I would recommend this beautiful place to anyone traveling to Antigua.

Casa de Stela is beautiful, artistic, well-located, and has an on-site smoothie and juice shop that is convenient and delicious. Jessica and Jo (who works at the smoothie shop) are very kind and helpful, and the two dogs on the property are very super sweet and loving. I loved the room I stayed in, and the property overall is well-decorated and very beautiful.

This place had a really nice feel and a relaxed ambience. We had a few problems such as our lock not working but Jess was helpful and gave us some money back to compensate which was great.

A great airbnb stay! Joe took fabulous care of us 3 ladies. She is an amazing cook and treated us each morning to a tasty Guatemalan breakfast. She made us homemade tortillas that were outstanding! She led us through 2 yoga sessions that were the perfect start for the day. She was available to answer questions when we needed guidance. The house is beautiful, colorful and artsy plus well located with a safe to use ATM machine close by. The home is totally chill and open air! It is a dog friendly atmosphere! I highly recommend this airbnb.

Casa de Stela is an oasis in every sense of the word. Tucked on a quiet street across from one of the most beautiful hotels in the country, Casa de Stela is everything a Free People ad campaign wishes it could be - complete with swinging hammocks and an on site boutique that offers guests a discount on locally sourced and beautifully made clothing and accessories. Photo opportunities abound from the rooftop patio to the Frida Kahlo mural in the courtyard. My friends and I had the good fortune to meet Jo, and Mika - the magic human she made. Jo was gracious, facilitated an early check in, had coffee waiting for us at ungodly hours of the morning and took the time to point us in the right direction for food and drinks. It's a bit more than you would pay at other places in town but for me the style and sanctuary provided were more than worth the price. Thank you for the beautiful stay - I can't wait to come back.

Loved this location very walkable to many locations including restaurants and shops. Loved that it's conveniently located across from Santo Domingo Hotel which is a luxury hotel with two nice restaurants an ATM & several museums inside. Just around the corner at the jade museum we found another ATM, felt safe being around these high end secure locations. The home itself is beautifully decorated love the style Jess has given to the home! There is easy access to the balcony for great views and pictures. Jo was kind to offer breakfast each morning & yoga which was really relaxing after travel. Overall it was nice to feel at home while on vacation loved the bed & breakfast feel of the experience.
