Mountain side Eco-house set in idyllic countryside, peaceful but not isolated, with amazing views of the mountains, great walks and bike rides. Kitchen diner with open fire, living room with wood burner, bathroom with wet room area, 2 bedrooms , sofa/bed and WIFI. The house is equipped with everything you should need. Clean Linen & towels provided. Perfect for romantic getaways or family trips.

The space

It's a modern two bedroom house, one bedroom has a bunk bed and one a double bed. There is a large kitchen diner, comfortable living room, bathroom/wetroom. The kitchen is the original part of the house ,probably about 100 years old, and has substantially thicker stone walls. During the summer months the mountains remain cooler than the village below, with a cool breeze that normally blows. Keeping the windows open and the insect nets down the breeze blows through the house and keeps it cool- natural air con!
The land is being slowly recovered from nature and the terraces are being rebuilt with the Olives being pruned and weeds being kept under control. Located in the countryside so great for walks or bike rides. In the Campo there is plenty of parking.
In the future I am planning to add to the house solar thermal hot water, a burner with back boiler, external insulation, triple glazing and all A+++ goods where possible.

Guest access

Everything apart from the toolshed. Use caution if going down more than three terraces as some walls are still in need of major repair

Other things to note

You will go up a winding road which is partly tarmacked and then leave the road onto a stony mountain track , so drive carefully. The track has 'speed bumps' (to stop the track washing away during heavy rain) which may bump the bottom of your car when you are fully loaded, so be aware. I normally hire an economy hire car or one up when I visit, but some guests choose a vehicle with higher clearance, such as an Opel Mokka. A very low car is not a good choice.****The dirt track has recently been tarmacked and so should be easier to access the house- Sept 2017****
Front door is a bit stiff and so when turning the key, pull the door towards you at the same time, there is a bit of a knack.

We enjoyed being there again, having stayed last August; there may be few frills but there is plenty of enjoyment, peace, views, walks, and ready access to other places in the vicinity whether countryside or towns. Great food too, shopping and cooking for ourselves or eating out.

I had a great 4 days at Jules&Sams place. I was looking for some peace and quiet and some nice walking and that is exactly what I got here. The kitchen is great with huge Bose fridge freezer and 6 ring gas hob. There is also a BBQ grill inside and another outside. There is a nice little terrace with shade to sit under and take in the quiet. Bitem is no great shakes but the supermarket has a very good fish counter. Jules&Sam were relaxed, informative and helpful hosts and finding the house was no problem at all. All in all a very pleasant experience.

This was a wonderful, easy, peaceful place, good for chilling out, exploring locally on foot or as a base for touring. There was a great deal of advance information and help, and on the whole the instructions were good. There is, however, one confusing point - it is not explicit that the unmade road from the crossing point is the route to take. Also, forewarning about speed/drainage bumps in the roadway was not really sufficient as the bottom of the hire car scraped on them when loaded with people, luggage or provisions. The front door lock is stiff and difficult - trial and error revealed you need to pull on the bar closest to the lock to open and close. Otherwise all was *very* well indeed. The weather was hot but in the event not too hot; occasional storms cleared the air; there was so much to see and experience in the area and beyond; and there was an added interest in it being an Eco-house that worked well. We cannot wait to ask if we an come again!

We were there for the 2nd time. Last year on our way to a vacation in the south of spain, this year on the way home. It's really a great and very quiet place to relax. Also good restaurants nearby at tortosa and some nice things to visit.

On check-In we found everything as promised, the house is wonderfully located in the olive groves up the mountains, quiet and peaceful. As the new road has been built right on our arrival, it is a lot easier now to drive up. The house is equipped with everythink you may need, WLAN worked like a charm. We enjoyed ou star and would come again, if considering the same part of Spain. On contact occasions, our questions were immediately answered, so big thanks to both of you, Jules & Sam!
