"Torretta della Viola" is a lovely B&B . Come to live the best feelings in the artistic heart of Perugia (Via della Viola),
Very next to Duomo, Fontana Maggiore and Arco Etrusco. During a clear day, from the torretta top floor, you can also enjoy an overlook on Assisi skyline. The ancient origins of the city of Perugia emerges in the form of its historical center, whose contours retrace the Etruscan walls, visible for long stretches, in which it opens the Arch of Augustus the third century BC

The space

The apartment is divided into two levels that characterize the living area (kitchenette, dining table, lounge with TV, storage room) and sleeping area (two double bedrooms with bathrooms) connected by an elegant wooden staircase with transparent glass parapet. The apartment is very bright and has windows on two sides: Perugia-center and Perugia-Assisi. In addition both the rooms and bathrooms have windows to the roof (motorized in rooms with electric and manual shutter in the bathrooms). The interior has a warm and distinctive flavor with parquet floors and ceilings with wooden beams and tiles. The decor is a pleasing mix of old and new

Guest access

Via della Madonna is a small side street of Via della Viola and property referenced in the apartment on the top floor, on the corner of the two streets.
In fact, just got off the steps of Via della Madonna, on the right is the door of access to the property, then you climb a staircase leading to the second floor. Flanked to the apartment there is a spa and within walking distance there are restaurants, bars, bakery, cinema, etc.

During your stay you can always contact me for any need, travel tips, and shopping.

Other things to note

Perugia annually hosts two events of great importance that have opportunity to combine a visit to the city to participate in a European event. The Umbria Jazz in July and Eurochocolate in October each year attract thousands of tourists and music fans of the legendary gourmet food of the gods. Between a concert and a food stand, there is a whole city to discover and in the evening you can choose to dine in one of the restaurants that offer the specialties of regional cuisine menu.

Mauro's apartment is in an incredible location, close to the medieval centre. The area is quite during the day but comes alive during the evening with a number of little bars and restaurants. The apartment is in a lovely old building but decorated in a modern and comfortable way. Mauro and Samantha welcomed us with a bottle of proseco and local chocolates.

Response from Mauro:
I greatly appreciate your suggestions Marco, and certainly I'm not offending, indeed I am the means to improve the service I spontaneously offer to my guests. In the apartment I always leave the maximum information that can serve, but beyond that I always recommend contacting me for any suggestions or necessities. For parking, I usually ask for the nearest one that is unfortunately paid for. Then, as is the case with you, I suggest the "Pian di Massiano", which allows you to use the Minimetro to get in the historic center, offering beautiful views of the city. Thanks to Marco for giving me some further clarification. Mauro

Perugia is a really interesting City. We decided to visit based on a recommendation from a work colleague who used to live in Florence. It's very lively, young and vibrant, probably due to the number of students and the university. Mauro's apartment is in a great location. It has a lovely feel too, just right for myself, my wife and our two daughter's aged 10 and 12. Mauro was very generous with the provisions the apartment came stocked with including a bottle of Prosecco. Lovely! Mauro was a great host and we managed to overcome the language barrier, so we had a good idea of things. Mauro even came over quite one night when the central heating wasn't working. We really enjoyed staying at this apartment and visiting Perugia! It's worth making sure you also visit Assisi. It can be done in a day using the mini-metro, train and then bus. Sounds daunting but quite straight forward.

Thanks Peter for the appreciation you have addressed to me. I am very pleased to have hosted you and your beautiful family. If you've found yourself really well are rewarded. So I will have more motivation to always offer the best hospitality. In all this then there is the beautiful setting of Perugia, with all the explorations that are near. Therefore I hope you will come back again, I'll know other wonderful suggest special itineraries. Hi Mauro.

This apartment is well located in the old part of beautiful Perugia. The apartment is close to everything (restaurants, supermarket, cafes etc) and if you want to go to the other part of town, there is an escalator 15 minutes walk away. We stayed two weeks to attend Italian classes and were very comfortable. Mauro is a friendly and generous host.

Great place to stay. An artsy street with a great Osteria across from it. Perfectly easy to get to the main piazza. Mauro and Samantha are incredibly helpful and very nice. My wife and son stayed and found it perfectly suited to our needs.

My friends and I had a lovely stay at Mauro's apartment. He was very helpful, even helped us find parking as we very stupidly tried to drive a car in the centro of Perugia (do not do that). Quiet, lovely apartment!
