The furniture has been rearranged since this photo was take and there is a new wood burning stove to replace the little green one.
Sweet restored stockade style log cabin right on Haller Lake. You would never know you were within the Seattle city limits! Haller Lake is a quiet, natural spring fed 15 acre lake surrounded by private homes.
Custom woodwork inside with artful touches. Sleeps 2 upstairs in full sized bed. Main floor has comfy sofa, kitchenette with microwave, single induction burner cooktop, coffee maker, toaster and small refrigerator, teapot, dishes and glasses; 3/4 bath with new stone tile shower; we have Wi-Fi!
This cabin is heated mainly with the wood fireplace. The photos show the old wood stove. You can now watch the flames and there is a fan to spread the heat around a little better. There is also a deLonghi oil heater to add a little more heat when needed. There is no TV but there is WiFi. Bring slippers, the stone floor gets chilly.
Fish from the dock or take a ride in the paddleboat. We just got a canoe! (The boats are out of the water in the winter).
No pets please! We are now living in the main house. We have an Australian Shepherd and a flock of chickens (the dog and chickens do not come into the cabin, just in case you were wondering)
Parking is shared with the main house. It's close to Northgate Shopping Mall with shops, restaurants and Thornton Place Cinema. A few blocks to Northwest Hospital and the new proton center (look up ProCure Center)
The lake is about 15-20 minutes from downtown Seattle via I-5 or highway 99 (can be a bit more in heavy traffic). Bus route #346 has a stop at the end of the driveway.
If you are interested in having a party or many friends over, please clear it with us before making your reservation. We have limited parking and there is no parking down our communal access road.
Check out by noon, Check in no earlier than 2pm, sometimes later if I can't get the cabin ready because of work. To be agreed upon according to schedule. If you want an early morning check-in, please book the night before.
no smoking, no candles (we have battery powered candles), strip bed of sheets and pillow cases, fold the blankets and put all dirty linen and towels in shower or by door upon checkout. Wash your dishes, take trash and recycle up to garbage cans by the garage. Please leave the cabin as clean as when you arrived.
If you use the barbecue, please clean it out. (ashes cannot go in the trash though...)
Nestled by Lake Haller, the cabin feels miles away from the busy metropolis or the surrounding suburbs. Tall cedars and wide-spreading ferns lead down to the dock. The cabin is snug and comfortable. Roberta always makes us feel welcome.
Roberta and Dan went out of their way to welcome us, the place was ready and tidy and we felt personally cared for. This place is a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity, well, for us we hope more than once! You cannot possibly regret staying here. We split our trip to Seattle between a nice hotel downtown and the cabin, and our stay in the cabin was much more memorable!
Cozy little cabin; Roberta made us feel welcome! Wonderful little getaway.
I felt right at home when I arrived at Roberta and Dan's great little cabin. It was clean and ready for me. I couldn't have asked for a better experience for the location and price and want to return when I come back to Seattle.
Our first AirBnB experience was at Roberta and Dan's Haller Lake log cabin. We absolutely loved it and will be going back! Our experience was memorable. We also appreciated how accommodating Roberta was, especially since we had an awful delay with our flight and getting into Seattle. The cabin was immaculate, spotless and well-cared for. Roberta ensured we had everything we could have wanted or needed. Loved the ability to use the canoe and fishing poles at the lake. The rustic charm appealed to both my wife and I and allowed us to feel like we were in a wilderness environment, yet able to easily access the city within minutes. Thanks for a wonderful stay!
Roberta encouraged me to text her when we arrived in Seattle, so she could light the wood burning fireplace. Nice touch and the cabin was cozy and warm. The neighborhood was quiet, filled with trees and the lake made such a peaceful setting.
Perfect stay at this wooden cabin. Great location, great environment, great privacy, great host and great value! Roberta is so nice to greet us in person and show us every detail of the house. We were also given the access to canoeing in the lake. You can't expect more from an BNB experience.
