If you are looking for a great Portland experience, this is a great room, with space for sitting and a porch for relaxing. It is within walking distance of great restaurants and my favorite, Grand Central Bakery. Karen makes you feel very welcome and offers a sweet room, lots of pillows, a bathroom with shower. Such a value because the prices of hotels in Portland are high, Sellwood is a great quiet neighborhood.

We did not see Karen much during our 2 night stay because of our flight getting in so late the first night- but she was very flexible with check in. Beautiful home in an even more beautiful neighborhood, with a nice room and very comfortable bed. Karen was super friendly and gave great recommendations for how to spend our last day in the city. Would love to stay again if we ever have the chance!

We travelled to Portland for a wedding and stayed at Karen's home for three nights. Karen is a wonderful host with a lovely home. Her home is located in a nice area, right next to a park and trail that goes along the river (great for those who like to run or walk) and about two blocks from a strip of restaurants and small shops (great for a beer, coffee, or a meal). It's also just a 12-15 minute drive into downtown Portland. The room was tidy and comfy, so comfy that we didn't want to get up in the morning! I would recommend this room.

It was nice to have a comfy place to rest after long hours on the road. Karen had coffee and some extras in the fridge for us to use which was a thoughtful touch. The surrounding area is beautiful as well, and I wish we had more time just to relax and enjoy it.

Karen's place is a quiet family home that captures the Sellwood district's small town character. She was wonderful about offering us cool beverages during the heat wave when we visited her and sharing local spots to grab a bite to eat. Her home is conveniently close to tasty food trucks and boutique shopping on 13th street. We had no problem getting from our AirBnb to the TriMet Bus 70 to help us get Downtown. I highly recommend a stay at Karen's place and we'll definitely come back soon.

We had a lovely stay at Karen's and she is a wonderful host! The room was a perfect size for us and the house has everything one would want in a short or long term rental. Very cozy and warm throughout. We enjoyed the way Karen struck a perfect balance between friendliness and being a host who recognizes that guests sometimes need a bit of time on their own. No awkward moments that can accompany moving into someone's life for a day or two. We now have a new friend and a comfortable place to stay when needed.
