In the heart of Glasgow's West End - close to the University, museums, parks and some great bars and restaurants. Only a 10 minute Subway ride into the centre of town, and well placed if you want to escape to the hills. Hosted by a professional (mostly classical) musician who has lived here for 20 years.

Please keep in mind that I live in the flat as well. Arrival time is flexible, but please check first if it's very late, since it's not a hotel with 24hr check-in...!

The space
Warm and light double room in a welcoming and cheery traditional tenement flat. There's a well equipped kitchen, which you're welcome to use for cooking (including an old lever espresso machine for your morning coffee...), and a comfy living room as well as the bathroom (with shower/bath). Wifi access is available, as is a piano!

Guest access
Bedroom, living room, kitchen, bathroom, hall
It's a 2nd floor flat, with stairs - no lift, sorry.

Other things to note
I'm a professional musician so will sometimes do some practise or teach in the flat. It's always during the day though, so I'll do my best to make sure that you're out at that point.

The West End likes to describe itself as the 'Bohemian' quarter...that might be a slight exaggeration, but it's close to the University and has a vibrant arts scene. The area has the feel of being a village in many ways, whilst still being only a few minutes from the city centre. There are also two large parks within 10 mins walk, and the Kelvin River walkway is nearby. The main street in the area, Byres Road, is full of independent shops, cafes, bars and restaurants - most of them very good!

I'm a musician (mostly classical but other bits and pieces as well) who likes travelling, reading, good coffee, wine and food, and I'm usually up for a hill walk or a game of tennis or squash. As well as instrumental work, I also run a multi-arts festival, so things tend to either be very busy or nice and peaceful...nothing in between... The flat is very welcoming, so make yourself at home! It's a comfy place to just sit and be, but is also handy for some really good coffee places, bars and pubs. I'm very happy to either recommend them or to join you on a visit to one of them!
