The space

Perfect for both winter and summer use! Enjoy the tranquility of an untouched lake year-round. Our cabin is built on land that used to be a Boy Scout camp, so the land and lake have been well-preserved.

The cabin was designed by an architect for his family's personal use, and has a focus on sustainability throughout. The exposed wood framing is reclaimed wood from Duluth Timber Co. The cabin was awarded a 2014 RAVE award by Minneapolis St. Paul Magazine.

In the summer the lake has great swimming and fishing, mostly for catch and release. Enjoy jumping on our water trampoline, kayaking, canoeing or simply lounging on a floaty in the lake. Set up a game of badminton in the yard, or grill out!

In the winter, enjoy ice-skating or sledding down the hill onto the lake. Cross-county ski on the lake, or go Blue Hills cross-country park for miles of outstanding trails. If downhill or snowboarding is more your style head over to Christie Mountain for a $2 lesson, and hit the slopes. Afterward fire up the wood burning stove, and play the many board games we offer.

We stayed here for a birthday weekend. The cabin was truly so unique, just like the photos indicate, and the property was great too. We were not able to get the wi-fi hotspot to work but you don't really need internet here anyway! The hosts were very responsive to any questions and everything else you need to know was easily laid out in the instructions. Great spot for a group to get out of the city and into the woods.

We had a great time relaxing and catching up both inside and outside the cabin. I hope to go back in the summer.

The home is even more beautiful in person and the location is absolutely stunning. It felt quiet and secluded and picturesque, which is amplified by the floor to ceiling window views. My husband and I stayed here with my parents and our toddler. Everybody was comfortable. The board games, ping pong and the typewriter added a nice touch of nostalgic fun. Kendall was helpful and check in/out was easy. We are already planning our visit back here in the summer.

Stayed at Kendall's cabin for a winter girls' weekend and absolutely loved the design, coziness, and gorgeous location. We had everything we needed (bedding, towels, toilet paper, kitchen utensils, shovels, etc.) and enjoyed all the unique personal touches, like the typewriter used to write poems/notes as a guest book. I would definitely recommend this cabin to anyone looking to unplug, relax, and connect with nature and your travel companions. Kendall was so responsive throughout the booking process and the instructions she provided were accurate and easy to follow. It was so effortless for us to find the cabin and make ourselves at home. It is true that the wi-fi and cell service are spotty but I feel like that's kind of the point - our navigation worked fine all the way there, and after that you really only need your phone for taking pictures. We comfortably fit 10 people with 2 sleeping on an air mattress that we brought.

Nice cabin in secluded area, quiet and beautiful. There were plenty of space for 2 families (8 people). Numerous board games was a big pus. The cabin was a bit cold (60 F) when we got there and it took about 6-8 hours to warm it up - this would be the only drawback.

The cabin is located in a great location (next to the lake) and its interior is very nice. The host was very helpful and sent us all the necessary information to reach the cabin. We had a great time playing ping pong on the upper floor or some of the board games that we found in the cabin. The only bad thing was the very slow internet and the poor cell phone reception.

I am an Early Childhood art teacher in Washington, D.C. I love to explore new cities and restaurants. My ideal vacation involves starting the day with a great cup of coffee, and wandering the streets and neighborhoods. I like to plan my travels around finding the best restaurants and hidden gems a city has to offer.
