This iconic property reflects the Asian influence of Broome's multicultural past.
The upstairs 1 bedroom apartment has a beautiful outlook over the Bay and the garden and is 62sq m.It has it's own laundry area, a fully equipped luxury kitchen and a balcony from which to enjoy the breeze and watch the world go by.
2 downstairs rooms, each have their own bathroom and shared mini kitchen/sitting room with outdoor BBQ area overlooking a peaceful water feature.

Margaret and Doug created this beautiful spot as an award winning B&B but, after 11 years, need to move into Doug's 99yr old mum's place. If you wish to book a room as a B&B please ring us to check if it is possible at that time.
Each bedroom has it's own bathroom and the BBQ and large verandah/outdoor kitchen area makes the most of the Bay Views and the small swimming pool. There is space for all guests to enjoy themselves together or, alternatively, to find their own nook when desired. There is a laundry upstairs and downstairs, a dishwasher, and basic toiletries and the first few days breakfast supplies are provided. The mini kitchen/sitting room could be used as a kids playroom if preferred. With the big pond out the front and the long water feature at the back it is not ideal for very young children who would need constant supervision.
Having said this, a portable cot and high chair can be supplied plus children's plates and cups .
Margaret is a professional baby sitter with a "Working with Children" license so would be willing to baby sit if you wanted a night out.
The gardens have a tropical feel and the front of the house has beautiful Bay views. It is in one of Broome's premier suburbs.
A car would make life easier, as Broome is very spread out, but there is a good bus service close by. Please bear in mind that the bus stops running at 6.30pm.
Each room has it's own entry access and all, except the owner's private space, is available to guests. Most of the year the owners are on hand to make sure that everything is spot on for you.
The upstairs apartment is accessible via 18 steps up a spiral staircase. Luggage is winched up.
Interaction with guests
Except for a few weeks of the year the owners are there to assist you with travel information, book your tours, provide local information and, as Doug is a member of an old Broome family he is happy to supply you with insights into historic and modern Broome. There is a library for you to access if you would like to read.
Other things to note
Prices vary on the number of rooms and people booked. Check with owner when booking as to the exact cost of your group.
Discounts apply for longer bookings
For some weeks of the year the owners may not be in Broome but it will not make a difference to the facilities available to you. You would be advised on booking if this is the case.
There is a DVD and a CD player, TV, a small BBQ on the back verandah and a large one on the front section. Ponds at the back and the front enhance the tranquility of the premise. Just a lovely, peaceful place for a family, or just 2 people, to unwind .
This is a very quiet residential area so this is not a party house. People start work very early in the morning so they would not appreciate being kept awake till late at night. We just ask that you take care of our precious items, respect and care for the property and consider the neighbours. AND of course have a great holiday!
My husband and I are retired school teachers who wanted to share our home and our personal knowledge of Broome with travellers. We are dedicated to what we do and we designed our home to reflect the early influence of the various Asian workers who came to Broome to take part in the search for, and marketing of, Pearls. We love Broome, it's history and it's magic, it's colours and it's tides, it's people and it's mixed culture. We hope you will feel same when you visit.
