Michel, Ramsay, and team are great, very friendly and welcoming. They get to know everyone and are very accommodating. They were also great about extending my stay! They're very near to many great cafes and restaurants, and a close walk to the nightlife- overall, a wonderful stay!

The hotel is placed in a peaceful stairways with a wonderful view in Gemmayzeh;5 minutes walk to Mar Mikhael where you can have great night life. Michel and his team were so friendly & helpful and you can always meet with wonderful people who are having rest in cafe. The rooms, bathroom and toilets are clean, so I can assure you that you are gonna have no problem about it.

Thanks for the 9 nights, Michel. You have the best hostel in Beirut. A great location and atmosphere, and the staff make it even better. It was a nice home away from home. All the best.

My trip to Lebanon was amazing and part of the reason was that I stayed at the Grand Meshmosh. I think it must be the best place to stay for people on a budget and those who want to socialize but would rather not stay at a party hostel that is noisy and busy all hours of the night. The facilities are nicer than other hostels in Beirut because they have just opened up. The beds are really comfortable (I stayed in one of the 6 bed dorms), the folks running the place are gracious, helpful, knowledgeable about the things of interest to those new to Beirut/Lebanon, and they seem to genuinely care about the people that stay at their hostel. The included breakfast in the mornings are good (different types of Lebanese and western style bread, various cheeses, olives, jams/prevserves, fresh fruit that is actually available free all-day, tea/coffee/juices, sliced meats, various types of cereals, milk, etc... The washrooms and toilets are nice and are provided with soap, toilet paper and places to hang your stuff. There are plentiful lockers next to the dorm rooms and there are balconies for most for most of the rooms. The hostel is located in Gemayze, one of the nicer areas in Beirut and near to many pubs, clubs and places to eat and a short walk to Armenia street where there are additional nightlife spots. The hostel is perhaps a 10 minute walk to the Blue Mosque and Charles Helou bus terminal and perhaps 15 minutes to the Souks of Beirut. The hostel has a very nice dining area with attacked bar. There is also a kitchen which I never used but which seems to be free to use for those staying at the hostel for a longer term. There are wine and water glasses available for those who need next to the water found which I believe provides filtered water. Wifi is good on the ground floor but not as good on the 2nd floor dorm room where I stayed. Unfortunately, there are not enough power outlets in the dorm room where I stayed and their location was inconvenient (next to the room light switch). Also, it would be nice to find a method of informing those at the hostel in adance of changes to the door code since it changes frequently (for those staying for longer terms). There is probably no better value for short term accommodations in Beirut.
