A great location! Easy to get anywhere in Tokyo and close by bars and restaurants! My only complaint is the other tenants where a bit noisy at night, other than that, Great place!

Great situation and really calm. It's cold in the house, but the room is heated. Toilets seat too :) and it's not expensive !

The best part about the Yotsuya Sofia House is the location - just a 3-4 minute walk to Yotsuya Sanchome station and a 15-20 minute walk to the main Shinjuku station. I personally took advantage of the fact that this house is just a 10 minute walk to the famous Shinjuku Ni-chome gay district, and would definitely recommend staying here if you're into that party scene. The house was relatively clean given that it was a share house. The kitchen had plenty of cooking facilities and the shower room was great. There is a washing machine but unfortunately no dryer. This isn't an issue, however, as there is a coin laundry less than 2 minutes walk down the street where you can quickly dry your clothes for just a couple of dollars. One issue I encountered was the (quite visibly) broken bedroom door. It did not close properly and could be easily pushed open even when locked. This was not an issue for me personally, as the front door was always securely locked, however I noticed a previous guest had left feedback stating that she felt unsafe with this issue as a solo female traveller, which may definitely be an issue for others looking to stay here. Another small downside to this place is that there is only one shower for the entire house of around 4-6 people, which left me feeling very rushed using the bathroom in the mornings and nights, and having to wait quite a while to use it sometimes. As for the other guests, however, they were all very friendly and quiet and all spoke English with each other. They were very willing to help me out when I had small questions about house operations. Overall I would stay here again. I definitely recommend this place to those looking for a decent location on a relatively cheap budget. Just don't expect things to be super clean and nice, it is a rather old house with multiple people living/staying there after all.

A basically comfortable and affordable room. The host's associate met me at the subway station and walked with me to ahow me the place, which sits on a tiny street in a quiet neighborhood. I visited during the winter, and my room had a strong gas heater to keep it cozy. Clean, plenty of storage space, windows, desk and a small, somewhat lumpy, but serviceable bed. The common areas--hallway, kitchen, toilet and bath were unheated, so not particularly fun to spend time in without a jacket on. Heated toilet seat helped. The common areas are also rather cluttered and not particularly clean, as they're shared with several other friendly but busy tenants and don't appear to be regularly taken care of by the owner. If you want to cook during your visit, the kitchen does nicely with a range, microwave, rice cooker and (overfilled) refrigerator. Nice to have wifi and washer included.

Response from Jamie:
In Japan / Tokyo, it's not standard to have a heater in the common areas (kitchen, bathroom & toilet), but atleast every bedroom has one. Usually, wearing a simple jacket is very common inside the house.

Posto carino, vicino a metro e JR statios , pulito e vicini carini. Vicino a supermercati 24/7 e ristoranti. Il tavolino in camera un po piccolino ma alla fine mi e piaciuto molto e ci ritornerei.
