An unusual and quirky place with a beautiful garden. It could benefit from a little updating, particularly the bathroom. Wonderful wood burner and plenty of logs for cold evenings. The pub serves a great meal.

Response from Dianne:
Thank you for your comments Marlene about our holiday home we think it unusual and quirky too, it's just as our Mum and Dad created it many years ago, we are updating the original bathroom and making more room for longer staying guests to feel at home as we do. Our Mum planted the beautiful flower garden and Dad, the vege garden, so pleased you enjoyed it.

Open plan kitchen/lounge was fantastic, with a beautiful woodburner

The step down lounge was a favourite place for family and friends to gather at night time with the woodburner keeping us warm as toast, pleased you enjoyed your stay. Cheers Dianne

There was the ongoing issue with the shower, a new one installed but no pressure.

A place full of the past. Charming. Great base for trout fly fishing the area. Just a shame about the shower being of a bad standard. Would stay again hoping that the shower had been fixed. Nigel and Helen

Response from Dianne:
Hi Nigel & Helen, thank you for your feedback which is important to us. You will be pleased to hear we have been hard at work over Easter and that the bathroom is having a complete makeover, with new shower, toilet, vanity, super-tub. So sorry that the shower wall was cracked (beyond our control as done by the previous AirBNB renters) and no time to replace before you arrived. We have also revamped the kitchen/dining area and making more storage for longer term stayers in the bedrooms. Hope you enjoyed the fishing as there are many spots and the cafe owners are happy to assist with local knowledge. You are welcome back anytime Cheers Dianne & Pamela

We watched the superbowl at her house and it was amazing! Enough space for 8 people in front of the big TV! Comfortable beds , nice kitchen, lovely garden and an old but really cool house. It is a bit remote back there, but was the perfect place for us😊👌

Homely and welcoming place to stay, Dianne and Pamela easy to contact and this was a hassle free booking. Thoroughly enjoyed Waikaia, the pub has great food (pork belly and blue cod a must try) and awesome hospitality. The local shop is well stocked and the cafe has great coffe…

Was a good stay. Although the last day and abit of our stay we had power outages but nothing can control that. More suited to probably 6 person stay as the people on the sofa bed have to put up with people going to the toilet in the night and the kitchen and lounge are open areas…
