The space
Masuya Guest House is a guest house located near to Lake Suwa in Shimosuwa-machi, Nagano Prefecture.
This building has been welcoming guests from 100years ago.
We have tried to preserve the outstanding parts of its architecture while creating a comfortable modern place to stay.
We hope that you will join our friendly staff and locals in enjoying a relaxed time at our guest house and in and around the Suwa area.
[ROOM]
This is a private room in a facility where there are other guests.
Accommodates up to 4 people.
The room key is simple, so please take care of your valuables yourself.
The bedroom is equipped with an air conditioner, a fan heater in winter, and a hot water bottle.
The kitchen, toilet and shower are shared with other guests.
As the building is prone to noise, please turn off the lights at 11pm.
[Living Area and Bar]
We have a beautiful communal living space for guests . The space was created using old wood from this former inn and hand laid tile; the lighting, comfy sofa and ‘pechka’ style wood stove make this a warm relaxing place.
The open ceiling creates an open airy and bright atmosphere to have a coffee and enjoy a book.
After 7pm the bar opens and we offer many kinds of drinks, both alcoholic and non-alcoholic.
It is a great meeting place for each guests alike to come read, share stories and just be.
[KITCHEN]
The guest kitchen is stocked with seasonings, cooking utensils, tableware, and free drinks.
All are free to use.
Other things to note
We offer a variety of goods to help families with children have a comfortable stay.
Please feel free to come with your children.
The building is over 100 years old, so you can easily hear voices and footsteps, but the lights are completely turned off at 11pm.
