About this listing
Come enjoy quintessential Seattle living in my carefully renovated craftsman style home. It comfortably fits two, and is centrally located minutes from I-5, UW and downtown. Enjoy a spacious kitchen, lovely patio and a hubbub of daytime activities two blocks away at Greenlake Park.
The guest room is on the main floor and has a new queen sized bed, a walk in closet and its own private bath. If you check out the photos, you'll notice the tub is the original 1903 claw foot tub, which I mention because it requires a bit of agility to get in and out of. The room is ideal for 1-2 people. There is no need to stay confined in the bedroom as we have our own private space upstairs. Street parking is free and rarely a problem. For those concerned with stairs, there are about six steps from the curb to my yard, and another six steps up to my front porch, this is fairly typical of the neighborhood. We do have another listing, a separate studio space in our backyard with a private entrance. It's ideal for longer stays or more privacy. It's listed as "Backyard Studio w/kitchen and bathroom". Either way, we'd love to host you!
There are great places to eat close by, but one of the perks of Airbnb is having access to the kitchen, and mine won't disappoint. Please feel free to prep and eat at home while you're here. If it's sunny, eat out on the patio, or relax in the sun out back. The house is quite spacious and comfortable, you will feel right at home! I own and work at the neighborhood coffee shop, which means I'm an early bird. This also means that I don't own a home coffee maker!! If you'd like your morning coffee in your jammies...you may be disappointed about that, but going out for coffee is a Seattle ritual, you may come to enjoy it and there are several options within an easy walk. I'm a great resource for great food and drink options around town, tell me your budget and I wont steer you wrong!
Other things to note
There's a dog here! He's 1 year old as of Nov. 2016 and he's a lab mix. So far he's fantastic in his crate overnight and while we're at work. He's lovable, but too young to be trusted to roam free so he'll stay in his crate unless I'm home. Even when he's loose in the house, the guest room is off limits unless he's invited in.

After 20+ years of hosting friends, family and friends of family, we're finally listing our guest room on Airbnb. Personally, I think it's a fantastic way to be a little smarter about where your travel dollars are going. It also allows you to get to know your destination from a local's point of view.
When I'm not traveling, I spend most of my time making coffee. Lots and lots of coffee! I own and work at a sweet little neighborhood coffee shop, it is my pride and joy! I adore my community and spend most of my time either connecting with friends over walks around Greenlake (just two blocks from my front door), sprucing up my yard, cooking a meal from scratch, or enjoying the outdoors.
As for Mark, he's an avid cyclist, sketch and watercolor artist and an industrial designer. He can tell you about any road here in the city because he's likely been on his bike there before. He also loves to travel and experience different cultures and food, so if you have a travel recommendation...he'll take it!
And last but not least, we have a black lab pup named Vader who is as sweet as can be. He sleeps in a crate and although he'd love to rule the entire house, we do our best to keep him out of the guest room. He'll be two next November (2017) and spends most of his time right by my side.
