First, I'm not an Indian national, but from the USA and stayed here for a week for "business" reasons after an long stay in another part of rural India. While not really a tourist I had a non "native" view of this room. I think if you are a tourist looking for an exciting place and more western style place to stay, this may not be for you. But if you want a nice inexpensive option to hotels and this is the area where you would want to stay, this is a good option. This room/bathroom unit is simple, clean, no frills, and adequately sized for one person but definitely not spacious. I found it perfectly comfortable and pleasant - more so then most budget hotels I have stayed in. The listing is in a residential apartment building in a distinctly residential area. The room and bathroom are a self contained unit that do not connect with any other rooms. The kitchenette is in the apartment next door. The kitchenette is only a sink, a microwave, a small boiler, refrigerator, and a few plates, etc. No burners. In the neighborhood are a lot of historical buildings from the Moghul era(?) (PHONE NUMBER HIDDEN). I wouldn't say that the area or building is quiet, but the noise flows with the daily schedule of it's residents of the apartment building and neighborhood. It's quite quiet at bedtime and most of the day. It can have some noise and smells when the kids are home and the apartment residents are cooking meals. The room doesn't front a street so very little noise of traffic. Noel, the host, is a good guy and very easy to deal with and helped with any small requests I had. Wifi and phone reception (Airtel) were excellent. 5 or so minute walk to a large residential market area, 10 minutes to Yogamaya mandir, 15 minute walk or a short 10 Rs ride to the Qutub Minar metro stop. 20 minute walk to the entrance of Qutub Minar park. There are some restaurants in the area, but not a great selection for a westerner within walking distance. Plenty of places deliver. Cabs and autorickshaws are available close by. The local market area is quite extensive and focused on the needs of the residents of the area. Nothing touristy about the area or what is sold in the bazaar. All in all, a nice budget place to stay in an interesting neighborhood.
