The Cottage is the perfect choice for a relaxing self catering cottage break in Holt on the North Norfolk coast. This cute Georgian gem, with its eclectic mix of Mulberry wallpapers and stylish furnishings and contemporary touches, is quite simply a delight. Positioned in Holt for many bars/shops/restaurants.

The space

50 High Street has a very cosy homely feel, you will not be disappointed.

Guest access

There is a key box at the rear of the property, on the wall to the right of the back door. To gain access to the rear, go passed number 52 on the corner and turn into the driveway, then go through the black iron gates where you will see a garden gate in the right hand corner. This is the gate to the rear of The Cottage.

Interaction with guests

As often as the Guests feel necessary!

Other things to note

The Cottage is fully equipped to easily cater for a family of 6, or 5 adults. The kitchen has a large gas range cooker, dishwasher, washer/dryer, microwave, fridge along with ample units and granite work tops. Please note, there is tea and coffee for your use but as I do not live nearby, you will need to get essentials like milk and bread.
There is a large well equipped dining room with a soft seating area and large flat screen TV. The lounge has a wonderful inglenook fireplace with a log burner. There is comfortable seating for more than 6 people and a large flat screen TV. There are 2 large double bedrooms and the twin room (single sized) has a truckle bed for 2. The stairs are very steep and therefore not ideal for the elderly or infirm guests. The cottage has a delightful sunny garden with terrace furniture with Parasol (warmer months) and a BBQ.
The cottage is very central to all of Holts fabulous independent shops/antiques and collectables/cafes/bars and restaurants.
There is a very large and well stocked Budgens store 2 minutes walk from The cottage, where you will find lots of local produce!
With wonderful views overlooking the beautiful Methodist Church where The cottage enjoys a dedicated parking space directly across the road. The Parking Permit must be displayed clearly in the vehicle at all times. Loss of the permit will result in a fee payable of £30.

Lovely place to stay, real old cottage. Steep stairs but this is mentioned when you book and mind your head going into kitchen. Holt is a lovely place to stay too. Easy walking distance to shops and pubs in Holt too.

Mulberry Cottage is a lovely home on the edge of Holt, with excellent shopping and food amenities within easy walking range. The cottage itself is beautifully presented, with a nearby parking space reserved for guests. However, we had a couple of issues during our stay: - the shower pump was faulty. However, the owner did rapidly arrange for a plumber to come out and diagnose the problem. - the magnetic seal on the fridge door was really temperamental, leading to it opening by itself (e.g. in the middle of the night), and then issues with food going off and ice build-up in the fridge compartment. A few other things for guests to be aware of: - The cottage is on the corner of a busy road. (We stayed in peak time in August, so this would probably be much quieter at other times of the year). - Some of the doorways in the cottage are very low. If you're a clumsy tall person like me (6ft 1) be prepared for some frustrating bruises! Overall, however, we had a very pleasant stay, and the owner was very communicative and responsive to the issues. We would stay in Mulberry Cottage again, especially now the shower is working properly!

Great little cottage. Really enjoyed our stay. Clean, comfortable and welcoming. Excellent travel cot. Stairs are quite steep and some of the ceilings are quite low but all part of the charm
