The space

Fully refurbished 2 bedroom apartment located on an upper floor (with lift) of a large residential building in the heart of Barbican on Whitecross Street. Parking available at £15 per day / £200 per month.

The apartment is very spacious and flooded with natural light. The space comprises two double bedrooms, a large reception room, separate eat in kitchen with brand new units and appliances, and newly fitted bathroom. There is also plenty of built in storage (including walk in wardrobe and storage draws under one of the beds). The apartment does not face onto any roads and is therefore very quiet.

Free Wifi is provided together with a good sized TV with built in digital tuner. The apartment comes equipped with bed linen, bathroom and kitchen towels, ironing and cooking equipment and a hairdryer. It comfortably accommodates 6 guests, with 2 double beds and a double sofa bed. It also has a desk, chest of draws and plenty of shelves. A travel cot is available on request.

The building is located above a small shopping centre with a large Waitrose supermarket, Pret a Manger coffee shop, dry cleaner, pharmacy and several restaurants. Situated on Whitecross Street, host to one of London’s oldest street food markets (Monday to Friday), perfect for grabbing a coffee and cake or a freshly cooked lunch. There is also a children's playground 2 minutes' walk from the building.

The location is in the heart of the City, next to the iconic Barbican centre, Europe's largest multi-arts and conference venue presenting a diverse range of art, music, theatre, dance, film and creative learning events. It is very convenient for access to Guildhall and also City University. It is 15 minutes' walk to St Paul's Cathedral with a pedestrian bridge over the Thames to the Tate Modern museum, and a short walk from Smithfields meat market and the array of coffee shops and restaurants in Clerkenwell. Oxford Street, Covent Garden and the West End are a short journey.

Numerous transport options are available on your doorstep. Barbican station (on the Metropolitan, Hammersmith & City and Circle underground lines) is 5 minutes' walk. Old Street and Moorgate stations are also very close. Farringdon station is 15 minutes' walk, from where you can take a number of underground lines and also direct trains to Gatwick or Luton airports.

Barbican station is two stops from the Eurostar terminus at King's Cross St Pancras, and also two stops from Liverpool Street where you can catch the Stansted Express.

Lydia was a fantastic host. She went above and beyond to DHL the keys to the flat to us in America so our arrival would be more convenient. The condo is cozy and clean and in a safe neighborhood accessible to many shops, bars and right next our favorite area in London, Shoreditch. We can't wait to return. Thank you, Lydia for a lovely stay.

The flat is very lovely. I stay with 4 other members of family and they said it is their best Airbnb stay in London (if not in the UK). Very clean and has everything we need.

The apartment is large enough for six people. It is clean, warm and comfortable. It is just like it is seen in the pictures. It has a central location, Barbican and Moorgate underground stations are accessible by five minutes walking. On the neighborhood, there are pubs and restaurants, as well as a supermarket and an open market. Lydia is a very helpful host and answers questions very immediately.

Lydia is a true superhost. I'd say this is the best trip to London because Lydia has helped us a lot. Lydia’s apartment was extremely clean, complete (as described), spacious for the 6 of us, functional & well maintained. It was an easy 10-mins walk to Barbican tube Station. The beds were comfortable & the hot shower/heater worked well (important in winter!). The Waitrose supermarket, the daily weekday food market in Whitecross St (the food was amazing) and café Pret A Manger completed our stay here. It took us 8 mins to walk to Old Street for the Halal Kebab and Fish & Chip Restaurants. Costa coffee (3 of them!) & Cote coffee are close-by too. The museum of London, The Bank of London Museum & the waterfront are just a walking distance away. My kids really love staying here (for 10 days!) and I would definitely recommend this apartment for a long or short stay.

Terrific apartment for young children due to the brilliant playground nearby. The Waitrose supermarket underneath was invaluable. Close to St Paul's cathedral and the London museum. The London museum has an excellent exhibition on the fire of London. All was as described. Thank you Lydia

I have lived in London for sixteen years. I love travelling, and am dedicated to providing a great experience to all of my guests. My apartments are in Clerkenwell and having lived here myself for a number of years, I can truly say there is no better place to experience London from!
