Fully refurbished 2 bedroom apartment located on an upper floor (with lift) of a large residential building in the heart of Barbican on Whitecross Street. Parking available at £15 per day / £200 per month.
The apartment is very spacious and flooded with natural light. The space comprises two double bedrooms, a large reception room, separate eat in kitchen with brand new units and appliances, and newly fitted bathroom. There is also plenty of built in storage (including walk in wardrobe and storage draws under one of the beds). The apartment does not face onto any roads and is therefore very quiet.
Free Wifi is provided together with a good sized TV with built in digital tuner. The apartment comes equipped with bed linen, bathroom and kitchen towels, ironing and cooking equipment and a hairdryer. It comfortably accommodates 6 guests, with 2 double beds and a double sofa bed. It also has a desk, chest of draws and plenty of shelves. A travel cot is available on request.
The building is located above a small shopping centre with a large Waitrose supermarket, Pret a Manger coffee shop, dry cleaner, pharmacy and several restaurants. Situated on Whitecross Street, host to one of London’s oldest street food markets (Monday to Friday), perfect for grabbing a coffee and cake or a freshly cooked lunch. There is also a children's playground 2 minutes' walk from the building.
The location is in the heart of the City, next to the iconic Barbican centre, Europe's largest multi-arts and conference venue presenting a diverse range of art, music, theatre, dance, film and creative learning events. It is very convenient for access to Guildhall and also City University. It is 15 minutes' walk to St Paul's Cathedral with a pedestrian bridge over the Thames to the Tate Modern museum, and a short walk from Smithfields meat market and the array of coffee shops and restaurants in Clerkenwell. Oxford Street, Covent Garden and the West End are a short journey.
Numerous transport options are available on your doorstep. Barbican station (on the Metropolitan, Hammersmith & City and Circle underground lines) is 5 minutes' walk. Old Street and Moorgate stations are also very close. Farringdon station is 15 minutes' walk, from where you can take a number of underground lines and also direct trains to Gatwick or Luton airports.
Barbican station is two stops from the Eurostar terminus at King's Cross St Pancras, and also two stops from Liverpool Street where you can catch the Stansted Express.
