Main door flat, 1st floor, in the middle of the town. Beautifully decorated, large lounge area with dining for 6, brown leather sofas and stove fire. Kitchen and second sitting room/ 3rd bedroom. Large private back garden with deck and BBQ.

The space

Memory foam mattresses and logs for stove on arrival. Cleaning, bedding and towels included for 4 (5/6 people is extra). £20 for electricity which is metered.

Guest access

Whole flat will be exclusive to the Guest(s). Main door access and back door direct to private garden. Parking is off Street. Recommend to park on Academy Street off King Street.

Interaction with guests

There is a book of things to do and guests be left to their own devices.

Other things to note

There will be £20 of electricity provided each stay and the Guest requires to top up for any additional usage. Please no coal on the log fire. Logs only.

I've just checked out of the fox flat after 3 nights stay for my brothers wedding. It's such a beautiful flat with everything you could wish for. I went up with my children and they didn't go bored when we was at the flat with the selection of board games, play station 2, dvds and books to choose from. I wish the weather was nice as I didn't have chance to go in the garden. The garden is beautiful with fairy lights wrapped around the deck you could definitely just relax. We had a little trouble working the shower the first night but soon realised how to work the heating for it and the log fire, what more could I say it's beautiful. We will be definitely coming again.

Lovely comfortable spacious flat in good location for local shops cafes etc. We were in the area for a wedding so didn't get to spend as much time in fox flat as we'd have liked but would definitely stay again if visiting the area.

We had a good time in Castle Douglas and The Fox Flat was a significant part of that. Pros: The flat is very well located, on the busy main street of CD, nicely designed and pretty well arranged for hosting guests. 2 of the 3 bedrooms are pretty small, but well arranged and equipped. The third bedroom is actually a family room and offers minimal privacy, as it is openly connected to the kitchen. The flat is beautifully designed, with an apparent fetish for fox and some functionality glitches such as the over-crowded living room. The flat has a beautiful, well groomed, harden with a nice seating deck. Great for sunny days!!! Cons: Second floor location with a very steep staircase. We did not notice any indication to that fact upon booking and had this as the biggest obstacle of our stay, as we had two partially disabled, senior citizens with us. We have experienced quite a few technical malfunctions over our stay. Burnt lightbulbs, stuck doors and the absence of a spare key, caused a certain amount of hassle and dismay. Although the owner was very responsive and actively tried to help, I do recommend demanding that she inspects the place before you arrive and that you make sure to get a proper compensation for such glitches, should they occur. Please note that you will have to make your own beds and strip them from beddings upon leaving. It's ok, but jas to be taken into consideration if you have any physical disability or arrive very tiered. All in all-the Fox flat is a nice place, but not for everyone.

Beautiful flat with tonnes of space. We had an 8 month old baby who slept in the second bedroom. Lounge/Dining room was very comfortable with a log fire. Kitchen had a second lounge room joined to it with a sofa and TV and all the utensils/cooking equipment needed. Wifi was speedy. Garden was a massive bonus and had a great decking area where we sat and had wine and dinner in the sun. Garden well kept with luscious grass. Lots of food places on the doorstep and cafes, shops etc. Supermarkets 1 min walk. Definitely will be coming back here as our base now our parents have moved to Scotland. Amazing value for what you get and location to expore the stunning wilderness around. Book it!
