Laidback casita on a half-acre of natural desert landscape overlooking the surf break at playa los Cerritos. Enjoy watching the sunset and sunrise from the rooftop patio and taking in the stars by the campfire after spending the day at the beach!

The space

Watching sunrise over the Sierra de la Laguna Mountains from the bedrooms or watching whales from the rooftop, every room will help you feel closer to the ocean and mountains. The kitchen is outdoors, beneath a palapa, perfect for breathing in the Baja air. Boogie boards and a beach umbrella are available for guests. We have a trailer parked on the lot as well. There may be other residents camped in trailers on nearby lots.

Guest access

The entire house is accessible to guests.

Interaction with guests

Our caretaker may be on site in the trailer, or not! Either way, we'll make sure you're well looked after and your privacy is respected. I can provide recommendations for places to eat, things to do, upon booking.

Other things to note

This house operates on solar power, thus high draw appliances such as hair dryers, and toasters, would not work well here. Powering and charging laptops and cell phones is not a problem though. For monthly rentals, utilities (propane and water delivery) are responsibilities of the guests. We also have a cellphone to use as a hotspot to access internet, but adding data packages at the responsibility of guests for monthly rentals (about 350 pesos per 2 Gb).

House Rules

Mi Casa es Su Casa! We just ask that you treat our home as you would your own, and be conscious of neighbours if they're around. No smoking is allowed inside the house. We don't mind having children, and our three year old has been coming down since he was a baby but there are things you would have to be mindful of (all concrete floors, cactuses). Ask us about any specific questions on children and infant suitability.

Danette's place 100% deserved every 5 star review! Easy walk to the beach, comfortable home, delightful hosts... All of her communications were spot on, taking the stress out of arrival and being able to cook one meal a day with farm-fresh ingredients of the region was awesome. The rooftop view was awesome sunrise or sunset. While the WiFi didn't work well while we were there, it was a relief to be disconnected and totally anticipated based on her description. Relaxing, gorgeous, and safe. Stay here for sure.

Response from Danette:
We're pleased that you enjoyed it! Thanks for the great review! I'm sorry the wifi wasn't working well, I think it was a technical issue with my dad not connecting the new data package properly, as we normally get excellent wifi as we're line of sight with the tower. I'm glad you appreciated some disconnection though!

Danette's place was such a great start to our vacation. Her parents are unbelievably welcoming (a cold beer on arrival was absolute heaven) and so charming. We loved watching whales breach through their binoculars on the rooftop terrace and the 360 degree serene desert views. The place is so well-located - a 2 minute drive down the beach and a 15-20 minute drive into Todos Santos. Cerritos Beach was perfect for our beginner surfer status and really fun for swimming, and ultimately we were so glad we chose to stay there instead of Todos Santos. The beaches up there are gorgeous, but not safe for swimming and for pretty advanced surfers. Wifi isn't great, but who cares. You're on vacation! We loved cooking breakfast in the outdoor kitchen in the mornings, and it's nice to have a big jug of bottled water available. All in all a great getaway. (Thanks again to Gilles and Paulette!)

This place was amazing. It is unique and the scenery is amazing. If you are a surfer it is close to the Cerritos break which is a beautiful beach with amazing waves to surf. Also, the rooftop on the house gives you a great view of the town and it is a nice place to hang out. If you are into small towns with the old school Mexico vibe, Todo Santos is only a 20 minute drive and is also the location of another amazing beach and surf break. Danette's parents were on the lot next door in an RV and were more than accommodating and made the stay a very enjoyable experience. Shout out to Gil and "Grandma" from the Texas Surfers! Overall this is one of the coolest places I've stayed and far better than any resort in Cabo. For sure my go to spot now. Everything was easy from check in, to precise directions and check out. Only bad part of the trip was leaving, because we didn't want to. The home is equipped with everything you need.

We booked very last minute due to a flight cancellation and Danette was on top of it! Great communication, directions, and super friendly. The house is an absolute slice of heaven...totally solar & self-sustainable, I cannot wait to come back. We were greeted by Danette's parents who may be some of the nicest people in the world. Thank you Gilles & Paulette as well!

Danette's house was the perfect getaway for us. It was even better than we could have hoped. Quiet and very private, we had the whole property to ourselves, had great sleeps listening to the distant ocean waves and birds in the morning, cooking outside and enjoying the sun and outdoor living, fires at night as the sun went down and tons of stars at night. It was somewhat windy during the days we were there so we didn't get to the beach much, but that didn't hinder our relaxation. The directions were easy to follow to the house and communication was easy. I would recommend this place for solitude and outdoor living and proximity to a good swimming beach, as well as for a good base from which to explore Todos Santos and the area. The El Pescadero area also gives you everything you need, good restaurants and cafés. We felt very much at home and wished we could have stayed longer. Jennica who met us and got us oriented was also great and very helpful. We hope to return in the not so distant future!

The place is even better than you might expect after reading the description. The house is a beautiful getaway a little off the town of El Pescadero. The housekeeper picked us up in town and showed us little restaurants and supermarkets close by. The house itself is super clean and neat. The outdoor kitchen and the rooftop were our highlights. With ten minutes walking you get to a beach that is a hot spot for surfers. Danette recommended us a nice quiet beach close by as well as a trip to Todos Santos.
