We had such a lovely stay in Maria's studio flat. Stayed three nights with two friends, and there was sufficient room for us between the double bed and the foldable sofa bed. Only issue was the ceiling/doors were a tad low but that's probably just because I am 6' 4" - my friends didn't find it a problem. Juan (Maria's son) was wonderful and welcomed us to the place when we arrived, he came to check on us to make sure we were happy in the mornings and even brought us passion and mango fruits for breakfast from some of the fruit trees around the house! They are a family of very accomplished artists and Juan showed us around the main house to see lots of his father's work which was very impressive. They had three little dogs who were all very friendly and I especially liked Oso the youngest one. We walked up to the hill one morning with Juan early before the sun rose to see the views over the El Palo bay, and Juan was great company. Juan was able to give us lots of advice about great places to go see and I wish we'd been able to stay longer as they were such nice people! This is a great place to stay if you want either somewhere nice for a few nights or a longer Airbnb experience where you would spend more time with the hosts as they were so obliging!

Fantastic persons in a very good and quite place. You stay in studio essential, comfortable and very, very quite. Maria and jorge helped when our car was k.o., ci hanno accolti invitandoci alla loro festa e sono stati premurosi e attenti in tutto. Poi la loro casa è un opera d arte .. Consigliato. It is better if you have a car because a few km from Malaga. Parking no problemi in front the house..

This is a fantastic place with Maria and Juan as great hosts. They really took care of us and we especially were happy to enjoy the house with all the marvellous paintings ,decoration and sculptures around. We had the pleasure to join Maria in a Flamenco evening in the town. The studio is small, but fine just to sleep in.Unfortunately not so easy to get to without a car. There is a local little free bus mon-fri. It is a good walk downhill, but I will not recommend to walk up-hill-take a Taxi for 6 Euro instead, It is very peaceful surrounding and you can walk up the hill and enjoy a marvellous view over Malaga and the countryside.-do that!!

It's perfect. I had a wonderful time exploring the area and nature just behind the property. Maria, Juan, and their three musketeers (dogs) are all so delightful and warm. It's easy to have privacy or company depending on what you prefer. Best with a car so you can drive to nearby sights (natural hot springs, mountains, the sea. Just ask the family for info). But if you don't have a car, there's also a bus into town from nearby. Overall had a really fantastic stay and couldn't recommend it more for those who are looking for a peaceful and warm place to meet nice people and explore stunning sights any time of year. And an added bonus is the family museum of incredible paintings and sculptures in the main house. Unbelievable. If I could give more than 5 stars I would. Can't wait to get back down for another visit!

Maria is very nice and welcoming. The property is pretty cozy, but it's up in the hills. If you want a nice quiet place and you don't mind to take a taxi up and down the hill, than this is a great place to stay. If you want a more easy acces to the village and to malaga, I recommend that you take something closer to the beach or the citycentre. Other than that we had a very great time there in the small but cozy almond studio with the stillness of the mountains.

Maria and Juan were very friendly hosts, open minded, caring, we could ask them for any kind of support, they helped us to solve a problem with the car rental company by phoning them in Spanish, made sure that the WiFi connection worked, recommended a restaurant where we ate delicious fish, everything was uncomplicated, they made us feel welcome at their place. Thanks for the pleasant and relaxing stay there!
