We had a nice stay in Havanna. Please recognize that there is no Wlan in the appartement, but in the park 200 metres from the Appartement away. Air conditioner was very important and worked properly. Pascuale was not there but well available via E-Mail, but we had a contact Person in the Appartement below who was really friendly but she doesn't speak English, so speaking Spanish is an Advantage (but this applies to Cuba in General).

Our experience was overall good. However the apartment is very basic (bring your own hand washing soap, shampoo, conditioner, etc.). The place is small but comfortable. Note that this is actually a small two room apartment with one bedroom (the bathroom is inside) and the second room encompasses a bed which is placed next to the refrigerator and sink with two burners on the counter. There is also a couch and a small table in this room. The onsite hostess was very helpful and always available. The Patio was spacious and it felt very safe.

Pascual's place was really nice. We explored the city all day and then came home to a refreshing clean shower and nice beds. Fridge had plenty of water and drinks. Only thing missing was a bottle opener, but a butter knife worked just fine. The neighbor downstairs was really helpful getting us a taxi to Trinidad. Lulu the dog was super friendly and cute! We felt safe walking to and from late at night. A little difficult to find when we first arrived, the apartment is located down the driveway behind a bigger house. Knowing the house numbers though helped us narrow it down. Overall we had a great experience and enjoyed our stay! Tip to travelers from the US, exchange your money to Euros before you go. Once you're in cuba you can then exchange your Euros to CUCs and not get charged an additional 10% fee.

Pascual's place was excellent. The location is very good, in the heart of Vedado and very close to the park where you can purchase WiFi access. The place was spacious and very clean. The family is wonderful and very helpful. There was construction going on at the property, but this wasn't a major issue as it only took place during the day. Also, the fridge was full of water available for a reasonable price, which saved me trips to the grocery store. The value was amazing for the amount of space I had. Thanks!

Pascual's place was AMAZING. Contrary to what you might assume, Pascual's little place was super clean and really homey and comfortable. The secluded spot is upstairs and the family lives in the apartment below. Ada, the wife, cleans the apartment and will even do your laundry for a few CUC! She was the sweetest woman ever and her husband was really cheery too! The kids, there are 3, are also friendly too. We loved trying to small talk with them as they speak little English and our Spanish isn't too great either. They have the most adorable dog that loves getting some attention. You're in a local neighborhood and a good 45min - a 1 hour walk from the more tourist area. But in the local area there is still so much to see! You're right next to the US embassy, there's a few great cafes around, and if you venture a few blocks you can run into a little arts district with some cool things look at. A lot of locals will start walking and talking with you and basically giving you a tour without even knowing it. We were taught a little history and asked to see pictures of places we've visited in the past. They're really friendly. Just remember that the locals don't make too much money so tip literally everyone. When you get to the more touristy spot, there's an incredibly beautiful church (La Catedral), the Museum of the Revolution, an engine from a US U-2 spy plane that was shot down during the Cuban Missile Crisis, and a whole lot of beautifully architectured buildings, even though a lot are really old and falling apart. There is SO MUCH to see and learn it's ridiculous. Their currency is simple in the sense that the 1 US dollar is equivalent to 1 CUC, which is the currency that tourists use. We brought euros from the US instead of USD because we were told it would have a better conversion rate. They will take about 10% if you convert from USD. Exchange a bit at the airport (enough for about 30 CUC) just to cab it to the where your staying and exchange the rest at a CADECA (basically a currency exchange office). They also have a CUP which is really only for Cuban residents so make sure your exchange at the conversion office as well as anytime you make a purchase, is in CUCs. If your like us, and end up needing more cash to convert, you can go to a Western Union, however only a Cuban resident can receive money from a transfer. Luckily our Air BnB host was awesome enough to give us her information and walked with us to pick up the transferred money. She was a life saver. This was one of the most enriching trips I've ever been on and it meant a lot to have such a great family hosting us in our home away from home. Cuba is a must-see...
