Late Georgian/early Victorian house between Harrogate and Ripon. Set in its own grounds this is the former vicarage now a family home in a peaceful and private location. Situated on the outskirts of the village, a five minute walk to the local pub serving excellent food! Many wonderful walks, cycle routes, historic houses, towns and sites (Fountains Abbey) within easy reach. Also a good half way point from London and the South to Scotland as only 20 minutes drive from the A1.

The space

There is a choice of guest bedrooms, either a double or twin room (the latter over looks the back garden and countryside) with a bathroom for guests own use with a bath, wet room style electric shower and underfloor heating. Additional accommodation for a same party of 4 can therefore be provided sharing the one guest bathroom.

Guest access

Guests can have access to the cosy snug with wood burning stove, television and DVD player.

Interaction with guests

We are very happy to provide breakfast with free range eggs, home made marmalade and honey from our hives. Most special dietary needs catered for. We have lived here for over 20 years so can advise on the many places to visit.

Stunning house in a lovely setting. Alison and Richard were extremely friendly and accommodating. By their recommendation we went to the nearby town of Harrogate for dinner and spent the day at foundations abbey just a few miles away. Both were fantastic. Couldn't fault anything at all about our stay and would definitely come again!

Alison, her husband and his super lovely dog Hector are amazing and more than welcoming. Alison was also very helpful with tips for visiting the surrounding areas! The house is located in a very nice and peaceful area. The room is stunning and the bathroom is big - both impeccable. I would recommend!

Wonderfully friendly warm and welcoming hosts. Alison and Richard went out of their way to make my stay so memorable. Their home is an old church manse and they have put a lot of work into renovating it back to its former glory. A very cosy bedroom. Very clean and tidy. Excellent food including honey from their own bees. Positioned in a wonderful rural setting with lovely gardens and within a short walk of the local pub that serves really tasty meals and has friendly staff. Alison and Richard make you feel warm and welcome in their beautiful home and are more than happy to pass on any information that may be helpful. Would highly recommend them to anyone coming to this area.

We had a wonderful one night stay in Alison and Richard's beautiful home. The house, a former vicarage, is built on a grand scale, fitted out and furnished in luxurious comfort and kept spotlessly clean. We stayed in an extremely comfortable double bedroom overlooking the garden, had a fabulous bathroom all to ourselves and in the morning feasted in the magnificent dinning room on a lovely home-cooked breakfast. Alison and Richard were friendly and flexible when we were (very) late for check in, they provided a warm welcome as well as plenty of space and quiet to rest and be on our own. We enjoyed the local pub, where we ate a very nice evening meal and had a great time exploring the local area, visiting Fountains Abbey and Brimham Rocks. Highly recommended for a luxurious stay in a lovely part of Yorkshire.
