Elisa was a wonderful host. If you want a rural Cuban experience - this is it. Be ready for lots of bugs. Only drawback is that it's hard to get transportation from here.

Couldn't have asked for a better experience at Elisa's. A very warm welcome for my father and I, a delicious dinner (mostly sourced from the grounds), a variety of animals to keep us company, and an inspiring diversity of agriculture. Would come back here in a second!

We had a beautiful experience with Elisa, Yvonne and Aboristo in their finca sanctuary. The little house we stayed in was completely adequate with a fan, air conditioning and solar heated hot water. The meals are very affordable and to me, inspirational (I own a restaurant that specializes in organic/whole foods mexican). The guided hikes and tours of the culinary and medicinal plans and a personal Reiki (form of energy work/healing) treatment from Elisa were worth the price of admission alone. She even took us to the symphony in Havana. There is great scuba/snorkelling just a 15 minute walk down the road and more diving at Puerto Escondido a short 15 minute drive away. Havana is only 1 hour and 15 minutes away. Manzanitas only 20 minutes away and Playa Larga 2 hours. This place is centrally located. Words don't come close (as flowery as this review is) to express our profound gratitude for the kindness and generosity that we experienced. Cuba is a beautiful place and Elisa and her family are true ambassadors that will touch your heart. My wife cried when she left. I confess that I did too.

If you want to get away from the crowds of tourists, this is the place to go. A lovel secluded venue in a wonderfullly natural garden surrounded by forest. Great snorkeling off the rocky coastline 2 km from the casa. Good base for diving. A basic but beautiful country Casa.

Elisa's paradise is a peaceful place full of energy. The contact with the nature you will find there inevitably invite you to reconnect with yourself. Elisa is a wonderful person with rare human qualities. She's is joyful, dynamic, warmful, openminded and very spiritual. The time I spent with her will be in my heart for ever, the conversations we had, the places she made me discover are very precious in my memories. Her backyard is filled with flowers, fruit trees, animals, and diffrent relaxation spots. There is a campismo (vacation rentals for Cubans) at a 25 walking distance where it is possible to do snorkling and relax on a small beach. I strongly recommend this place to whoever wants to discover the beauty of this part of Cuba without being surrounded by tourists, looks for adventure, and most of all search for a great human experience.

Our stay at Elisa's was by far the highlight of our trip--peaceful, beautiful, unlike anywhere I've ever been. The garden is full of birds and beautiful trees. We spent each day lying in hammocks, listening to them and reading. Adorable, friendly cats sometimes joined us. Elisa also leads hikes down through the woods to the beach, or you can walk down the road by yourself to a little tourist village with coral reefs and small stretch of shore. Most of the tourists we met there were from Havana, and we easily made new friends. Everything is beautiful, sustainable and delicious. Elisa cooked us breakfast, lunch and dinner--all delicious, all homemade, with crepes in the morning and five or six delicious dishes in the evening--and offered beer, juice and fruit whenever we liked. She is gracious, responsive, funny, and generous. We communicated primarily in Spanish. Elisa has been on this land for 26 years and helped us to understand Cuba, Bacunayagua, and its history. Although it isn't listed, Elisa also provided transportation from Havana to Bacunayagua, which made the house much easier to find. Off of AirBNB she also lists the countryside for tent-camping. Don't worry about anything when you come to Elisa's. Whether you're looking for relaxation or a hikes through the country, I couldn't imagine a better place to go.
