Imagine walking into your bedroom and seeing through your large windows the Flatirons, the Continental Divide, rolling hills with pine trees, a big blue sky, and in the distance the skyline of Denver... welcome to serenity!

The space

I am offering a large bedroom on the 2nd floor of my open and inviting home. There is are two additional bedrooms that are also available on AirBnB; all three rooms are upstairs with views of the mountains. This guest bedroom has a plush queen bed, a luggage bench, a five-drawer dresser, and a closet for storing your belongings and hanging your clothes. Also included in the space is a humidifier and a space heater if needed.

Guest access

The driveway, front entrance, and upstairs loft area are available for your leisure, and there is a full bathroom upstairs for AirBnB guests to share. You are also welcome to use the kitchen to store food and heat things up, but please limit your time in the kitchen and no elaborate meals please! If you need to store something in the fridge , please let me know ahead of time and I am happy to make space for you. The deck is off limits to AirBnB guests.

Interaction with guests

I love Boulder and I love to share that with guests and travelers! I also know that sometimes you want to be left alone to relax, unwind at your own speed, etc. I am very quiet and respectful and let you decide if you would like to interact or not. At anytime during your stay, you can always reach me by my mobile phone with a text or call.

Other things to note

This is a mountain house that is on a well and septic system, and the well water is quite hard. Therefore there is often a mineral build-up and residue on the faucets, sink, and shower that can make it appear dirty when in fact it is just the mineral residue.

I have one dog, Serena, living in the home; she is a therapy dog, and is very quiet and super sweet. She is never left unattended in the house if I am not there with her -- occasionally I will leave her in my bedroom.

Thomas is very friendly and laid-back. He had some good tips about visiting Boulder for us during our 4 day stay. The neighborhood is gorgeous and feels very remote, even being just a 10-15 min drive from Boulder. His house is stunning and cozy. We would certainly stay again!

A short drive and north Boulder falls away as you climb up to this little gem of a place. We enjoyed a quiet stay, beautiful views from our room, and nice walks around the pine tree neighborhood. Thomas' place has a chill, welcoming vibe. Perfect place to get away from town, yet still be close. We loved being able to drive further on, up to Nederland and back via Boulder canyon.

Very cool house and Thomas was an excellent host. Wanted to get a “mountain retreat” experience and his place certainly fits that description. Although we did not get to meet him in person, he was very attentive via email which was nice. A couple things to consider and reasons why we gave 4 stars instead of 5: - The shared bathroom: Potentially three rooms (six people) sharing one bathroom is tough, especially at night. We were out hiking/biking during the day and it’s a bit annoying to wait over an hour to shower/use the bathroom afterward. You also kind of have to hope the other guests are clean and considerate. - Location: Amazing views during the day, wildlife, etc., but definitely a drive to get there. If you are planning on coming back at night, be prepared for a 20 minute drive on dark, narrow, twisting mountain roads and keep your eyes peeled for deer/walkers/cyclists/cliff edges. - House in general: As noted above, Thomas has a beautiful house with incredible views. However, Airbnb guests are restricted to the top floor hallway and loft. You cannot see outside from the loft, so to really enjoy the view you are restricted to your bedroom or have to go for a walk down the road. The deck and main living area looked like great places to read/relax/have coffee in the morning but again are not supposed to be used by Airbnb guests. A bit of false advertising to show pictures of those amenities in the listing. Overall though Thomas seems like a really great guy and no complaints about the room itself, cleanliness, etc. Will most likely stay a little closer to town next time or in a more private room – location is cool but experiencing it at the house is not really possible.

We had a nice stay at Thomas's place. The view and home is amazing. It was a little awkward feeling being in a home where kitchen, living room and outdoor deck are off limits; but it was fine.

Thomas User ProfileThomas is a superhost.

Hello! I moved to Boulder in 2014 because of my love for the mountains, nature, epicurean food and happy people, and I needed a break from city life after living in Boston for 2 years while completing a masters degree at Harvard Divinity School. I have one fluffy white dog named Serena, who is a therapy dog and assists me with my acupuncture clinic in downtown Boulder. In December of 2015 I bought a unique mountain house. With enormous south facing windows, an open floor plan, and dark wood floors, I knew it would make a wonderful home, along with fulfilling a long-time dream of developing a retreat center for those looking for healing, serenity, and a break from the stress of modern-day living.

Others describe the home as natural, clean, refreshing, contemplative, and--- with such views of the mountains and valley-- beautiful. I am so happy to live here in Boulder and look forward to welcoming you!
