The Big Quiet was an excellent place to rest my head for a couple nights. It is a camping experience, so be as prepared for that as you can be. The community is adorable and everyone I meant was extremely nice. The stars are amazing at night!
Um..No. my sixteen year old daughter and I arrived to find a set up of randomly placed tipis and tents out in a pasture. We were the only guest present so we’d have been out there all alone, It had been pouring rain so everything was soaked which was out of Rods control but the g…

Yes, I agree, the weather has not been (and continues not to be) cooperative this spring. It is one of the wettest springs on record. You have to allow grass to dry before you mow it, so the grass was too wet to mow before you stayed here. As soon as the grass dried out sufficiently, we mowed the campground. Sorry for the inconvenience. What we strive to offer at Big Quiet Camping is an authentic Wyoming camping experience. We are not a glamping outfit or a KOA campground with nicely manicured lawns and methodically arranged tents and cabins. Nature is not orderly, it's random! We ask every guest to bring a flashlight, towel and pillow with them. Why? We don't install lights around the campground, so guests can enjoy the magic of the stars. We don't provide towels and pillows because guests kept taking them with them and it drove up costs to keep replacing them. You didn't want to camp; you wanted everything within reach and all the conveniences of a motel or KOA campground. We offer a variety of arrangements for Airbnb guests, from teepees, tents, a yurt and sheep wagon on our organic farm; to tastefully decorated and comfortable bedrooms in our home; to cabins with full kitchens; all with stunning views, peace and quiet. We offer all these options to satisfy every budget and need of our guests. When you called to say you were cancelling the reservation, my wife told you we had rooms available in the house to rent, but you chose to leave and book a hotel room. Given our moderate cancellation policy and your poor communication with us, offering a 50% refund was a very reasonable compromise.
Very cool spot for outdoorsy people or for those who want to try something different! Also a great way to meet new people in a community setting and enjoy the stars at night. Make sure to bring some essentials (towel, flashlight, warm clothes) and you'll be ready to go!
Rod and Lynn were incredibly friendly and great hosts. The breakfast/coffee/tea was outstanding. They also provided me with some great hiking locations outside of Yellowstone that avoided any tourist activity. The location is 20 minutes from Cody which has plenty of stores for su…

Thanks for your review, Rob. We have ordered some log "chairs" to sit at the fire pit, that will replace the futon. Regarding improvement of the fire pit: your suggestions are very constructive. This is one of the areas we plan to work on before the start of our next season in Spring, 2017. We hope you consider a return trip next summer to stay and climb Heart Mountain.
It was such a great experience to stay at one of these tents! We had a bonfire and watched the sky full of stars. The breakfast pancakes and sausages were super tasty. Mary gave us great tips for our trip to Yellowstone. Thank you again.
