The space

The house has a big dining & living room with two fireplaces, ceiling fans and A/C. The living room has a TV with a DVD Player and a big collection of movies to watch, you can also connect to Netflix.
A very well equipped and somehow open kitchen, will allow you to share cooking while chatting with family and friends.
There are 3 bedrooms in the house. Master bedroom is huge with fireplace, king size bed, and an ensuite bathroom. The second bedroom has a queen size bed, one twin size bed and a toddler bed. The third room has 2 twin beds. They both share the use of a complete bathroom.
The house is surrounded by decks, allowing you to enjoy the views all day long, while you rest in a hammock, take a nap or read your favorite novel. We have a very nice lap swimming pool, some 7,800 inches away from the house where you can relax and enjoy de sunset. It is ideal to hang out with kids, as the pool has a shallow end of aprox. 20 inches. As we do not have a fenced pool, please pack your safety products in your bag.

Guest access

All the bedrooms have fans, A/C, heaters and you will find a fire extinguisher in the living have a 5 GB internet service, the best available in these rural areas, but sometimes it is slower than expected. You can have access to our family veggie garden and welcome to pick your own groceries, visit the Minuano stream and encouraged to hike our trails surrounded by the native flora and fauna.

Interaction with guests

The house has two housekeeper, Nadia & Jorge.
Nadia is responsible for keeping the inside of the house clean, like bedrooms, bathrooms, and kitchen as well as gardening around the house. Deep cleaning is done before your arrival and maintenance is done every two days. Jorge is responsible to keep the outside clean like the swimming pool, as well as cutting the grass, and load wood in the fireplaces.
If you require additional help in cooking, Nadia and Jorge could be helpful, paying them a rate of $ 800 daily (uruguayan pesos equivalente aprox to usd 25). Jorge is very good making barbecues. If you wish to have some work done for you, please ask it to me first, so that I can adjust their daily routine to your needs.

The neighbourhood

As we told before, we are in the middle of the countryside, but our housekeepers live in the same premises in another house 500 meters away from the house you are renting. Rest of our neighbors are big dairy farms, you will usually see more cows than people. The area is very safe, you can leave your doors open as well as cars inside your car.

Getting around

There is no public transportation up to the farm entrance.
Local buses have regular stop at Radial of Juan Lacaze at km 139 of National Route 1. The farm is 7.1 kms away from this bus stop driving through aprox. 3 kms of unsurfaced gravel road. We can arrange a car to pick you up, at your cost, but in order to get your food supplies and be able to move around the area freely a car is needed.

Other things to note

In Uruguay from 5 PM to 11 PM electric rates are 4 times higher than during the rest of the day. Please try to make a reasonable use of air-conditioning and heating during this period.
Bear in mind that our farm is in the middle of the countryside, so you will have to organize your shopping since the nearest village is 10 km away.
We have an internet service, with a WI-FI router, the best we can afford in rural areas, but it is sometimes a little bit slow, depending on climate conditions.

House Rules

We expect you to keep the house clean and well organized at all times, and refrain from using food and beverages from our own pantry.
Please respect the indications for litter and recycling receptacles which will be personally explained by housekeeper Nadia when you check in.
Last, but not least, always keep the entrance gate (In Spanish "portera or tranquera") closed to avoid our neighbors' cows from entering our farm!

I'm a city woman, who discovered that commuting from the crazy Buenos Aires City to the quietness of the countryside was possible, so my family has the privilege of enjoying and share this getaway in contact with nature which is very relaxing.
I love gardening, we have our own veggie garden which we are willing to share with our guests.
