Beautiful area

Guests love this home’s scenic location.
The perfect relaxing escape to the country - a 2 bedroom, converted barn on a North Pennines smallholding. Enjoy far reaching views down the valley from the south facing patio.

A peaceful rural setting yet less than a mile from a thriving village which has a small range of shops, 2 pubs, 3 cafés, a post office and art gallery.

Please note that we don't accept pets

The space
A traditional 19th century stone barn which has been converted to a high standard and has spectacular views.

This is a separate self-catering property which adjoins our house and allows plenty of privacy for a restful country break. There is underfloor heating throughout the property and also a small wood burner with an initial supply of logs is provided

Downstairs has a fitted kitchen with a full range of top quality Bosch appliances and a large open plan living/dining area. Large bi-fold doors open out onto a south facing stone paved patio with far reaching views over the North Pennines AONB.

The living area has a modern LG Smart TV with FreeSat channels and guests can use their own accounts to login to streaming services like Amazon Prime, Netflix, Apple TV, Disney+, Now TV etc. There is also a Bose WiFi/Bluetooth speaker which provides music streaming facilities and access to internet radio. There are 2 sofas with side tables plus a selection of books, games and DVDs with a traditional wood burner too.

Upstairs has the main bedroom with king size bed and en-suite shower room with sink and toilet. The second bedroom has twin single beds which can be linked to make a super-king bed if requested. There is also a fully equipped family bathroom with a sink, full size bath and a separate shower cubicle.

Guest access
Exclusive use of the converted barn which is adjacent to our house but has completely separate access. Please note that this is a smallholding setting (i.e. livestock, fields, grass footpaths) so it's a good idea to bring some wellies in case of wet weather or muddy fields.

We can provide a travel cot and stair gate if required but please let us know in advance if they will be required.

Other things to note
This is a working smallholding where we have chickens, rare breed Tamworth pigs and a small herd of native Dexter cattle. We are happy to show guests around and at feeding time the animals are always keen to meet visitors.

Car parking is available in a fenced area near the property and covered storage space can also be made available for bikes etc.

Occasionally there may be our own available to buy such as eggs, beef, pork, sausages or bacon
