About this listing
A large Victorian home set in fantastic mature gardens, Parkfield House (as it's now called) is the perfect base for a visit to Topsham
Good sized double bedroom with en-suite toilet and shower. The house is a very friendly home that was built to be enjoyed by lots of people. We currently have mum Pippa, daughter Charly and her young daughter, husband Charlie and lodging ecologist Ed. Your room is set slighly off from the rest and very private. You will have your own use of the family drawing room and shared use of the other communal spaces - there's plenty of space for privacy if that's what you are after. The garden is very quiet and peaceful. There is plenty of space for parking - a rarity in Topsham. Breakfast is self-serve cereal, toast, jams, fruit, tea and coffee.
Big family kitchen (and own prep kitchen and fridge), drawing room with piano, TV, toys and games; extensive gardens, pond, greenhouse, vegetable patches and chickens (very friendly), trampoline and croquet sets; a sunny grape-vine covered conservatory, gazebo and a large off-street driveway.
Interaction with guests
We will really enjoy having you as our guests and will do everything we can to help. We've got all sorts of maps, books and local knowledge; we know the local restaurants and pubs (beer) particularly well. We may well able to lend you bikes to explore the village or tell you where to hire from. You might even be able to pursued Charlie to take you fishing in our boat - he'll definitely lend you a couple of crab lines.
Other things to note
Breakfast is self serve cereal, toast, jams, fruit, tea and coffee. Tennis courts and Topsham's outdoor pool just round the corner; we've got plenty of rackets and balls - please bring your own trunks.
Not many; no smoking indoors, be considerate of others, be nice to the chickens, children and granny and keep the garden gates closed.
