The space

This is one of the rooms rented at Amarillo B&B. It is specially designed and decorated in a modern boutique style for travelling couples.
Amarillo B&B emerged six years ago as one of the many "private houses" for tourists in the city of Santa Clara, famous for Che Guevara. In November of 2015 Antoine and Saily began to manage the place with avant-garde concepts in terms of services and aesthetics.
Why Amarillo? Amarillo means Yellow, Yellow is a warm color, it is in the center of the spectrum of light visible by the human eye, just as Santa Clara is in the center of Cuba. Yellow is the most visible color in the distance. Yellow predominates in many paintings by Van Gogh, Antoine's favorite painter, and in sunflowers, Saily's favorite flower.
In aesthetics Amarillo B&B aims to distinguish itself by a sober but cozy style, stripped of unnecessary elements, decoration with vintage items that have been given a new functionality, plants, natural flowers and artificial light to highlight the hard work of DIY Antoine and Saily have developed.
Amarillo B&B has also been built over the Laura´s smile, who has worked there since the beginning, always attentive to everyone's needs.
The edifice was built in 1956 over the ruins of a house of the nineteenth century by Dr. Carlos Sparza: a large grounded floor to live and consult patients and three apartments above to rent. In 1959, when the Cuban Revolution triumphed, Commander in Chief Fidel Castro with his communist ideals, gave the property of those apartments to the tenants who lived there, so the property of Dr. Sparza became into only a grounded floor, enough for a family in the midst of the nascent Cuban revolutionary society. Apparently the doctor wanted to continue the building, which is noticed in the massive architraves and columns that supports it.
Amarillo B&B is not a place finished at all, it constantly changes according to the architectural whims of Antoine: guest´s money is invested in beauty: creating beauty and comfort is the mission of Amarillo Inn.
Amarillo B&B is defined by two words: hospitality and art, while bets for excellence, because excellence is what it aims for...

A fantastic and beautiful hostel in a multi-room bed and breakfast, specifically focused on catering to its guests. We arrived early while they were prepping our room but they were very accommodating and allowed us to cool down in our room with the AC. This hostel was in an unbelievably central location right next to the most bustling area of Santa Clara! This was perfect for our one-night stay. The room accommodated two beds for us and had the right amount of space for two beds, with a closet and a very nice bathroom. Right outside our room on the second floor, there was a vast variety of plants and greenery along the large outdoor seating area, giving a beautiful look out into the city. The hostel also helped store some of our luggage after our checkout, which was very kind and helpful. One thing to keep in mind, since our room was on the top floor we had a couple sets of stairs to climb and the last set is a very tight spiral staircase which made it difficult to carry our bags to our room. The hostel was also kind enough to allow me to hang dry some of my clothes on the clothesline. They even folded them and put them in a bag for me when they were dry. Overall great service and a fantastic place to stay in Santa Clara. Thanks for everything!

This is the place to stay in Santa Clara! Very beautifull designed casa right in the center of the city. Lovely staff, who are always there for you. The food is very nice, at breakfast you even get French toast :). We did a tour trough the city with Victor which was very impressive, it gives you a different view on Che and what he has done for the latin american population.

The Hostel Amarillo is by far the best designed hostel we've seen in Cuba. The room was super comfy thanks to a clean and well equipped bathroom, the air conditioner and a very comfortable bad. We definitely recommend this place for anyone who wants to stay right in Santa Clara's city centre, in a chic but inexpensive place. Moreover, the breakfast was phenomenal.
