Newly-decorated retro-themed bedroom with terrific sea views is on the top floor of a beautiful Regency terrace. A gorgeous designer-styled double bedroom is also available on this floor. The bathroom on the top floor for the use of our guests - our family bathroom is downstairs. Our home has just appeared on Channel 5 television programme 'To B&B the Best'.

The space

The single bedroom has terrific views over beautiful Pegwell Bay. The antique single pine sleigh-bed looks out directly over the bay, so you can see the views as you snuggle down amongst the pillows (enchantingly pretty at night when the moonlight is reflected by the sea). Painted in soft grey with white woodwork, the room has a small Sixties armchair, desk and chair plus a narrow chest of drawers. I have furnished it with original Sixties rocket print cushions and some of Pete's tinplate toy rocket collection and a pile of old sci-fi books. The room is perfect for a single adult or for an older child staying a few days with their parents in the lovely double bedroom next door - it does not have a wardrobe (there are hangers on a hook on the door or just ask to use the hall wardrobe on the next floor down). Pretty pine floorboards, a colourful rug and the tiniest original fireplace - rather hidden by the high bed footboard. This is my favourite bedroom because you can wake up and look straight out to sea - it costs £25 per night plus £4 cleaning fee.

Guest access

You are welcome to use the kitchen - just tell us when you want to cook. We use our lovely dining room with jukebox and pinball machines for breakfast in the morning for you.

Interaction with guests

Pete and me (Diane) are around to greet you and help you get the most out of your visit to this lovely seaside town.

Other things to note

There are fifty stairs to your room and two lazy cats - currently impersonating cushions on my sofa - and a happy and sweet-tempered one-year old black Cockerpoo dog - Poppy. The hot water is always on and always hot - please be careful. This is a very quiet and peaceful residence but there are lots of pubs shops and attractions in the centre of town a lovely stroll along the clifftop promenade (20 minutes)

I had a fantastic stay with this wonderful family! First things first, the view you wake up to is just fantastic. My room was super comfy and clean. And so beautifully presented. Diane greeted me with a glass of pimms which on the gorgeous weekend it was I certainly couldn't say no to. Breakfast was just lovely, super tasty and you won't be left feeling hungry or unsatisfied. Great coffee too!! The bathroom as well was lovely and the shower pressure was on point. I don't feel quite able to articulate just how incredible my stay was here, Diane's home was so cool, so much to see. As a family they are lovely to spend some time with and talk to and they are all more than happy to help with suggestions or tips of what to do in the area. Diane and her family are so welcoming and really keen to make sure you enjoy your stay. In terms of getting into Ramsgate it's a really nice walk along the promenade. The home is located so well you can go and visit many of the local beaches, I would recommend Botany Bay. Basically, if you're visiting ramsgate or a neighbouring area you should stay here because it's awesome Thank you so much Diane and family :)

Dear Shalani Thank you so much for your kind words - it was a pleasure to host you. We are all very glad you had a lovely sunny weekend down here. You certainly picked fine weather as today it's rather overcast. Do visit us again - you will always be most welcome. Best wishes Diane

This is such a great place. The ambience is the perfect middle ground the faded grandeur of Miss Havershams mansion, and Al's diner from Happy Days, complete with jukebox and pinball machine. Throw in a few house pets scampering around, daughters turning up from Uni with an armful of plants for an impromtu garden makeover, and you get the general picture. If you like minimal and chic, this is not for you. If you like unique places to stay, with some genuinely lovely people, I couldn't recommend it highly enough.

This was a classic regency style home which was very spacious and comfortable. The view from the bedroom out to sea was very picturesque.Helena was a fantastic host very helpful and friendly .Breakfast was very healthy , the shower excellent and the bed was perfect. There was a nice pub called the Bellvue 5 minutes away which served tasty food and good real ales.I would no hesitation in coming back to this stylish house.

I'm an untidy academic in a lovely Regency terrace overlooking a beautiful bay. I love to study and like me, my family love to meet new people. This is a relaxed household.
