About this listing

17th Century timber framed house in Bavaria's smallest town. Stunning historical buildings are surrounded by lush nature and its very own castle. Our house is located with a craft brewery in front and the Main river behind us. Nature lovers welcome.

The space

The house was build in 17th century. It has been modernized, there is a modern bathroom and kitchen, and central oil heating.
However the windows are original single pane windows.
There are two floors. The ground floor servers as storage and houses the oil burner.

Guest access

The house can reached via a local bus, however having your own car makes it easier.

Interaction with guests

The key for the house is available from the neighbours, as the owners are not nearby.

The neighbourhood

The house is just off the high street. The whole tow amounts to the high street, with houses front and back of the man street. The road is cobble stone. The entire town is 17 century architecture. There is a brewery opposite the house. There are no stores in Rothenfels. Food must be purchased in the next towns.

The house is furnished in a quirky and eclectic style. Artistic notes are evident.

No smoking. Guests are required to clean up after themselves. Bedding is provided but beds are not made.

We are a German/British artistic family; who love our Port Moody nature. Our family speak German fluently, basic French and Twi. We have a home library and as vinyl enthusiasts have a large eclectic collection. Since we love Book Art and have a working 1910 Colt Armory Letterpress in our workshop. Living history is a passion and we participate and maintain a WW1 trench at the Station Museum. We have an in-house Tea Sommelier!
