This is a unique opportunity to step back in time and stay in a Romany gypsy caravan. With a full double bed, seating area, wood burning stove and outside fire pit. Full shower facilities are available and breakfast is included.
Romany Rose is a traditional gypsy caravan with all the beautiful and unique features of a bygone era. The double bed is full size but due to its position on a raised platform is most comfortable for any one 6 foot or less!
Romany Rose is set in her own lawned area with an outdoor seating area adjacent with a fire pit. There is a shower and toilet in the main house with a kitchen area for tea and coffee.
Interaction with guests
We are available to help guests with lighting the fire, dropping off in Cartmel for meals out and local information on all of that the Lake District has to offer.
Other things to note
There is a minimum stay of 2 nights for Fridays and Saturdays from Easter through to October. One night weekend stays are available between November and March plus within 14 days of the date at other times.
Pets are more than welcome in Romany Rose - to date we have had dogs, a cat and a parrot! It goes without saying that the pets will be well behaved and under control.
Cancel up to 5 days before your trip and get a full refund. Cancel within 5 days of your trip and the first night is non-refundable, but 50% of the cost for the remaining nights will be refunded.

The Blue House is our family home where Ed, Emily and Robert have grown and flown (well nearly, I now refer to our residence as a Depot!) We have been welcoming guests for bed and breakfast since 1991 - our very first guests booked in 3 weeks after we moved in and we still exchange Christmas cards!
By day I'm a photographer - anything with people and/or pets in - portraits, weddings, family celebrations. I don't have the patience or time for landscape photography, I just use our amazing Lakeland backdrops as settings for portrait sessions and wedding celebrations.
We have two beautiful black labradors in residence - Inca and Lossie, and if you time it right you might even find a litter of puppies running around during your stay.
Husband Tim is a management trainer who is currently, in his spare time, renovating a boat to sail single-handed across the Atlantic. Watch this space. Our 4 resident hens are quite the celebrities - one of them had a major role in a recent feature film and 2 others were in a music video that, to date, has had over 8m views on YouTube!
