Glamping at Mussel Beach Wilderness Campground, on the West Coast of Vancouver Island is off grid camping in style. Beachcomber, 1 of 5 wall tents, has a Queen bed with luxury bedding, a table & chairs, futon couch, wood stove, covered porch & outdoor kitchen with all the amenities. All tents are beach front with fantastic ocean views and minutes to the out houses and gravity fed out door showers. After a 30 minute slow drive down a logging road you arrive to do some serious chillaxing.
The large, deluxe canvas tent is 14' x 16', nice and roomy for two adults. The futon couch converts to a double bed if extra space is needed. There is an outdoor, covered porch, covered kitchen and private beach front access. The cedar outhouse and heated showers are steps away and very clean. On your arrival you will have a 18 L bottle of drinking water, a 16 L jug of non potable water, ice packs in your cooler and your first nights fire wood for your stove. After that you can purchase drinking water, ice & firewood at reasonable prices.

We spend our summers at Mussel Beach, so can help with anything you may need. Lori and Curtis manage Mussel Beach Wilderness Campground, so they are also available.
Other things to note
The gravel road to Mussel Beach is approximately 20-30 minutes. It can be a rough road, depending on time of year and weather, just GO SLOW and you will have no problems. Mussel Beach is Wilderness, off the grid, no power. We do, however, get good cell service due to the Coast Guard tower near by.Note that the Mussel Beach gate is closed between 10pm and 7am. Message us if you need to make arrangements to get in at this time.
Mussel Beach is a family friendly place where at any given time there can be kids, dogs, adults or bears walking on the road, so again 10km throughout. There is no smoking or pets allowed in the tents. We ask our guests to not remove any furniture or linens from the tents or porch. Please leave everything as it was when you arrived. Our cleaning fee is for laundry, stocking up supplies and maintenance. Only purchased wood is to be used in the wood stoves and the on site fire pit. Please do not bring glass and pack out what you pack in. Quiet time is after 10pm, respect your fellow campers. We expect guests to observe bear safety procedures.
