The perfect flat to chill and base yourself while you discover the exciting things in Malta. The apartment is beautiful; the views, the pool and all other household amenities are superb.

The space

Hi there! My name is Stefan and I live with Boccu - my cat! I am offering one bedroom of my two bedroom apartment for rent to the right people. The apartment is located in Madliena which is very central, an up-market residential zone (which you won't read about on any tourist info site). It's amazingly quiet with a pool and views to die for! Please don't be offended if I can't accommodate. This is not my main income and just accept a few guests every year.

The place is kept really clean. You're welcome to make yourself at home, chill on the super terrace, with valley/sea views. Each room (including the bedroom for rent) has unobstructed views, surround sound in the main rooms, a BBQ, and one of the largest private pools in Malta (open end May - September). The flat is just 0.9 miles from the sea and actually a great swimming spot (one of the last pics). The apartment is finished to the highest standards - no leaky taps or rusty cookers in this joint joint- expect rain showers and modern everything.

I would recommend that you hire a rental car during your stay because it will help you get around Malta a lot quicker and allow you to do tons more stuff, rental cars are not expensive at all here. The flat is a 10-minute walk from the bus stop, 5 minutes from St Julians by bus, and central enough to get to the north quickly too. Unfortunately my car is a 2 seater so it's difficult for me to give lifts.

Perfect for doing un-touristy things and discovering the whole island vs getting banged up in a hotel in the middle of tourist zone!

I really don't mind you enjoying the house as if it were your own - you are very welcome to have drinks here and invite some friends round.

I sail, and windsurf in my free time, and love the sea.

I also run an online ticketing website for events called ShowsHappening - so feel free to ask me for tips on where to go party too - from 30+ wine and dine events to underground raves (you might want to ask me before you book for dates).

I am a very easygoing guy and am renting the room for a bit of extra cash this summer and to meet people. My aim is not to rent it out constantly but to meet nice people who want to experience malt a bit differently.

Hope to hear from you soon with any questions you have!

Have a nice day!

House Rules
Not safe or suitable for children (0-12 years)

I don't really have any particular rules - be respectful and just come and have a great time in beautiful Malta.

Oqoww, update after 1 year of Airbnb and a few rules I wish I had thought of before (yes they happened as I've described):

1. Don't go swimming to the pool (with a tshirt on) and walk back through the common areas, lift, and into my apt completely dripping wet. I even give you a towel!
2. Don't have sex in the shower, at least if you're going to then do it discretely! (and especially especially don't leave the water running and make a mess the whole time - geez some people).
3. Don't go to the beach and walk into the apt completely covered in sand making my apartment a sandcastle (and then shake the towel inside the terrace (and not over the side)) - faak me sideways!
4. Don't sit on the sofas if you are wet (or even remotely damp - they're nice sofas.. if they were shit i wouldn't care).
5. Don't flood my faaakin bathroom and ruin the wood, or wash all your clothes in there - there's a washing machine with a 15 minute quick wash! Also don't fill up the basin till the brim and spill water all over my lovely wooden bathroom furniture.

Rant over.

My wife and I stayed at Stefan's lovely flat in September. Stefan and his girlfriend Chrissa really looked after us and we're always contactable for advice and support during our stay. The flat was very clean and tidy and the bedroom had space for our luggage and clothes. The internet is fast and flat is located 15-20 minutes car drive away from a number of great locations. I would really recommend Stefan's place to anybody that was visiting Malta.

Stefan and Carissa were very accommodating and our only regret is that we didn't have much time to spend with them! The flat/room is located on a hill top out of the way from any shops and towns (not within walking distance), but this is what we were looking for when we were booking the holiday. If you are staying here you will need to rent a car, but when you do get it you will be so happy that you did, because you can access every inch of the Maltese islands beauty. The room was air conditioned, comfortable and had enough space for our requirements. We very much enjoyed having breakfast on the balcony every morning. The rest of the flats fittings were of a very high standard and the apartment is very clean. The pool was very clean and private, with not many peel around it which we loved! Stefan and Carissa were incredibly helpful, allowing us to get the most of our trip and every morning would give up their time to help plan our days activities, journeys, make restaurant recommendations and even link us up with their friends for when we wanted to go canoeing and clubbing. The other significant aspect of this holiday that made our stay especially amazing, were that Stefan and Carissa showed us the places that only the locals would know. We saw some amazing sights and wouldn't of if it wasn't for the help of our hosts. A week on from our trip we are missing Stefan, Carissa and Maltese life very much! We will not hesitate to contact Stefan for another booking again soon.

I had the most amazing time staying with Stefan in his lovely apartment in Malta. We were both AirBnB virgins prior to this so I'm not sure either of us knew what to expect. As it turned out we got on like a house on fire - it even turned out we share a couple of mutual friends back in London. Stef was a great host introducing me to his mates and showing me around -there is no doubt at all that we'll stay in touch. It was the perfect way to see Malta! (He might even take you sailing if you ask nicely :) Only thing I'd say is that as Stef says in his description, you will need a rental car, but the 5 to 10 minute drive to St Julians' worked out perfectly for me as you're a little more central if you do want to head North or South.

Stef was a wonderful host from start to finish and is just one of life’s great guys. He went way beyond the call of duty on a number of occasions to help me out and literally could not have been friendly and welcoming. You can just relax and be comfortable both in his company and at the flat, which is equipped with everything you could need (including a wonderful hammock)!! Would highly recommend!

This time i stayed together with my friend Simone in Malta. We selected the appartement of Stefan because of the nice views and the swimming pool. These were not disappointing, but really great. Simone just realized at arrival that Stefan also would be around, at the same time..Haha. But this was not a problem at all, Stefan is very easy going and gives you tips about the surroundings if you want but if you don't want them it's oké too. Everything is oké ;-). A rentalcar is a must to do anything!

What a wonderful trip to Malta we had thanks to Stefan. His apartment had everything we looked for. I would just recommend renting a car because there isnt much around. We enjoyed being a bit far out and exploring Malta by car. Stefan was always available whenever we had a question and even took us out on his boot. We would definitely stay at his place again.

We just returned from a great stay at Stefan’s apartment. The view from the balcony and the pool were beautiful! The apartment is very big and he has the most adorable cat. Stefan helped us with the planning of our day trips around the island and to Gozo. He also told us about the ongoing events like the international food and jazz festival, which made our evenings in Malta even more memorable. I would definitely recommend a stay at Stefans and we hope to be back soon! Maud & Liza

I'm Stef, 30 years old, I run two websites ShowsHappening and 8AM - Showshappening sells tickets for events and 8AM is a job website. I am a laid back and fun guy - in my free time, actually... whenever it blows I Sail and windsurf and generally love the sea and life itself. If you stay at mine I will let you know Malta's secrets which there are many.
