This historic home with modern decor is well equipped for your summer baseball camp getaway! We are located 3 miles to Cooperstown All Star Village and a short 15 miles to Cooperstown Dreams Park. Our home is located in the Walnut-Dietz Historic district and one block to Main Street.
The Murphy House is a classic example of an American Foursquare home. Inside your will find mid-century modern decor and classic styled kitchen and baths. You will find many original interior details preserved. This would include the 1-1/4" hardwood floors, masterly crafted main staircase and interior doors. There is ample living and sleeping space with a nice brick patio and grill to entertain in the back yard. The first floor sun-room has been converted to a beautiful Hot Yoga Studio.
The home has four bedrooms on the second floor. The first two: 1 king, and 1 twin w/ twin trundle share the hall full bathroom. The third: a bunk bed (full size on bottom w/twin over top) has a door connecting it to the fourth bedroom. This way it can be combined to share the private bath or closed to use the hall bath. The fourth bedroom has a queen bed and a private full bath. This bedroom also has the option of becoming a Suite with the bunk bedroom. On the main level you will find Kitchen w/ DW, microwave, gas oven/stove and half bath, living room, dining room, foyer and office. Beautiful sunroom/yoga studio. In the basement there is a finished living space with a couch and queen sized bed with an additional 3/4 bathroom and washer/dryer room. Outside there is a nice patio and grill.
Guests will have full access to the house. On site laundry facilities will be available. There is ample off street parking and convenient on street parking in front of the house.

Hi! I am a massage therapist with 9 years of experience, and I am a relatively new yoga teacher specializing in Hot Yoga (Barkan Method) and Restorative Yoga. My husband, Jay, is an Aerospace Engineer by day, real estate investor, property manager and entrepreneur by night (well and day).
I am originally from Northern Virginia, but Jay was born and grew up here. We met at school at Virginia Tech (GO HOKIES!) many years ago. We loved the town so much we moved back to Blacksburg for a few years. But after having children we decided to move home to Oneonta to be closer to family.
We're a busy little family of four with one daughter and one son who keep us on our toes. We love to travel (a lot), so extending our home to those traveling here just seemed like a win/win situation. We love to rock climb, hike (well they do, I'll do it if there's climbing involved), sight see, try new foods, take in the local culture and shop (well that's just me...and the kids if there's something shiny and makes noise).
My goal as a host is to make your stay as enjoyable and easy as possible. We offer free continental breakfast with delicacies from local bakeries and coffee shops, as well as the standards you'd probably find in your own kitchen. We're happy to be your personal concierge with recommendations for local eats, things to do and places to go. Hospitality is our number one priority. If you choose the Murphy House, we're sure you'll love it as much as we do.
