We are located on the West Coast of Scotland, about an Hour from Glasgow on the Isle of Bute. The Farm carries a Herd of about 140 Suckler-Cows and about 1.000 breeding Ewes. Farmed by Ian and John Dickson the Farm is proudly producing Scottish Lamb and Scottish Beef, which is sold mainly through Scotbeef/ScotchLamb and the local Butcher. But as well as Meat we are trying to supply the Locals with fresh Duck Eggs from Happy "free grazed" Ducks in the near Future. Scalpsie Farm is surrounded by stunning wildlife and fabulous views with lots to explore and discover. With the Loch Quien to its left, which is famous for Fly Fishing Rainbow Trout and the beautiful sandy Beach of Scalpsie Bay to the Right. A Grey Seal population which is located to the right of Scalpsie Bay - only a 10 minute walk away from the Farmhouse! The Wildlife such as the Seal Colony, Porpoises or Basking Sharks as well as Relaxation and beautiful walks and interesting History and Geology of the Bay, which for example once was used for military purposes during the Second World War. And or the many traces left over from Wikings and Ice age, can be enjoyed and explored by any age group. For us the secluded Scalpsie Bay is a great place to relax and enjoy with stunning scenery at our doorstep. A huge sandy Beach is the perfect place to enjoy a fantastic view on the backdrop of the Isle of Arran. Two viewpoints, located nearby help visitors spot the area’s fascinating resident wildlife and take in amazing landscapes. Head to Seal View where you can watch the large colony of seals sitting on their rocky perches, and the other viewpoint is where you can catch the best scenery of Arran and the Holy Isle. Training and breeding the Sheepdogs on Scalpsie Farm is Lisa, which is our "german Shepherdess" and your Host together with Ian. As a hobby, as well as in day to day work our Border Collies are essential. Don't miss out to meet all the Farm Animals- Sheep, Cows, Hens, Ducks and Dogs!
