The neighbourhood is urban, semi residential and semi-commercial. It's a historical neighbourhood that was formerly very middle class which explains the large antique houses adorned with intricate fret-work that lines the streets.

Over the years the neighbourhood has become increasingly industrialised but still has that community vibe and city feeling.

What a great place to stay .very close to everything you want to see in Kingston , The area the house is in is very lively at night so not great if you want piece and quiet but brilliant if you like to have a really Jamaican stay. The house it's self could do with a little work but nothing a tin of paint and a brush wouldn't fix .the yard is excellent and secure with mango trees in it wifi was first class .there is a small shop 2 mins up the road which is ideal for anything you need .Overall I really enjoyed my stay at the house ,not expensive so don't expect 5 star i think the property has great potential to be a great place to return to year after year with a little bit of work this place would be amazing

The listing was as described... a quaint little house tucked away in central Kingston. Not at all glamorous and posh but it does give you that authentic "local" feel if that's what your going for! Overall my stay was pleasant and any minor issues I may have had Tarik took care of right away, so they wouldn't warrant mentioning. Thank you Tarik.

This place is centrally located and I loved the privacy of the house . It is enclosed behind a blue gate and is your own oasis . Mangos tress and sweetsop and guava everywhere. The space is perfect for 2-4 people traveling , beautiful layout of the house and Tarik is amazing !!!

This is definitely an oasis in the middle of a bustling city and community. At first driving up to the home I was concerned at the look of the neighborhood, but once the large gate opened I was welcomed to a private enclave. The pictures and description were accurate. It is close to everything. I suggest taking a cab everywhere and not walking through the neighborhood. Tarik was a great host and even took me around on my first night to run some errands, like find an ATM. The home did not provide 5 star accommodations, but did provide a comfortable environment for me to spend me short time in Kingston. Do be aware that there is some times very loud music played in the neighborhood at night.

The guava, mango and sweetsop trees were a welcome addition to our trip and the hummingbird that lingers off the porch was such a delight. The house is cute, clean, with appliances and a new refrigerator. Dennis, who looks after the maintenance on the house, was such a terrific host and a huge help. The neighborhood is a great representative of what it's like to live in central Kingston, with lots of little shops around for necessities, freshly cooked food offerings right outside the door and lots of local color - including loud music late into the night. I would suggest earplugs if you are sensitive to noise. Sealed off with a remote controlled gate, it's easy to feel very safe in the confines of the house. Close to the Bob Marley Museum, and a few other tourist attractions, our favorites were our trips to Hellshire Beach for seafood and to Port Royal Museum and Lime Cay Beach which Dennis was happy to accompany us to.

We were very happy with Tarik's house. Especially the 2 massive mango trees in the front courtyard literally dropping ripe mangoes every 30 mins. Great for your breakfast cereal! We felt very secure and had some really enjoyable chats with folk from the local community. Everyone was very kind and welcoming.
