Description

The space

***Guests room now with real full size bed (not sofa cama) and double glass windows, insulated from noises and keeping inside temperature, with access to the courtyard***
The apartment is in the Classic Edificio Condesa, building from the beginning of 1900 which takes a whole block. It's located in the ground floor, it has a beautiful indoor patio with plants where you can enjoy relax moments. Guest room has a window/door (double glazed) to the patio.
The apartment has been lived and loved by the family for many years. Lately has been remodeled trying to preserve the classic style but mixing with modern details that makes it more functional.
Is has internet access, TV with Netflix or any other digital service that you may have. You can also enjoy the movies and books that are in the house.
In winter, in case you feel cold, you have a gas heater for the living room and an electric one for the bedroom.
The building has on it commercial premises in the ground floor and you can have just outside the apartment very good restaurants (one with delicious coffee and bakery -Lardo-) and coffee shops.
Tuesdays you'll have just in front of the apartment (Pachuca Street, the other side of the apartment that your room is, so it won't disturb you ), the "Mercado sobre ruedas" (tianguis) where you can buy all kind of fresh fruits, vegetables, flowers... This is a unique experience that you should live in Mexico City.

Interaction with guests

Any time you need anything please feel free to contact my mother or myself, we'll respond and try to solve any inquire you may have as soon as possible. Both of us speak Spanish and English and my mother also French.

The neighbourhood

Around 20's, Colonia Condesa with the Colonia Roma, started to grow as one of the richest neighborhoods in town. Nowadays, both are one of the most trendy and fashionable neighborhoods in Mexico City, have a lot of restaurants, bars, fashion stores, coffee shops, bookstores, art galleries, independent cinema and theater forums. But they also still keep their residential neighborhood style of life and you can walk all around, enjoy the parks (Parque España and Parque México), ride bicycle, appreciate the architecture (from Art Deco to Modern).
The building takes up an entire block and has on it commercial premises in the ground floor and you can have just outside the apartment very good restaurants (one with delicious coffee and bakery) and coffee shops.
There are also manny options of walking distance restaurants and a laundry and dry cleaner just crossing the street.
A little bit further, but still at walking distance, going east, just crossing Avenida de Los Insurgentes, you have the Colonia Roma; walking west, you have Chapultepec with Museums (Antropología, Tamayo, Arte Moderno) and its beautiful Bosque de Chapultepec, one of the largest city parks in the continent.

Getting around

METRO Three blocks away, walking to Av. Veracruz, you have Metro Chapultepec station, Line # 1/Pink.
METROBUS it's a Bus Rapid Transit System ticketing is by pre-paid smart card that you can have in almost all the payment machines located in the stations. In Sonora and Av. Insurgentes, you have the Line #1/Sonora Station. You can take Line#1 to the south of the city (all Insurgentes) or change to Line#2 in Nuevo León.
ECOBICI it's the government bicycle system, everyday more people use it to move around the city. You have two bicycle stations just around the corner, #44, Av. Durango & Av. Veracruz and #49 Mazatlán & Juan de La Barrera.
If you wish to set up a temporary access, you can do it on line, in the 4th Generation Stations or going to their premises located in Calle Campeche #175, Col. Roma.
TAXI, we strongly recommend you to use UBER or Radio Taxi, try to avoid stopping taxis in the street.
All the area it's friendly and enjoyable for walking, being at the heart of one of the most enjoyable parte of the city and not far away from Downtown and other interesting parts of the city.

House Rules
No smoking
Not suitable for pets
No parties or events
May not be safe or suitable for children (0-12 years)
Check in time is 9AM - 9PM

The most important thing is that you enjoy the space, but there are some things to have in mind in order to have a good host-guest relationship.
I like respectful people, this means that are considerate with others and with the space. Smoking it's not permitted; parties are not allowed; please don't play music loud; have in mind that because of the indoor patio sound travels to other apartments in an easier way; if needed, you may close your windows in order to keep privacy. The indoor patio it's shared with a lovely lady, greens help to split the space and keep privacy between each other.
About child-friendly (2-12) it's something that I'd like to manage case by case.

Carmen, the lady that has ben cleaning and taking care of the house for many years, will come every Tuesday and every second Thursday (10a-3p). She will keep the house clean, the plants with water and although she doesn't speak English I'm sure you'll find the way to ask her anything you may need (i.e. if you want your bed sheets to be changed, just leave them in the floor).

If anything needs to be fixed it or it's broken, please let us know in order to work on it.

This is a wonderful place to stay. The kitchen is super well equipped and the apartment is very comfortable and clean. It is within walking distance of the metro and many other places with great restaurants outside the door. Don't miss it!

We just returned from 10 days in Mexico City staying at Bere's apartment, and this was the best AirBnB experience I could imagine. Everything was at the five star level: cleanliness, location (with great access to the Metro, restaurants, etc.) , attentiveness of the host, furnishings, fully equipped kitchen and laundry, and lots and lots of space. We started our visit as a couple, and were joined later by two family members - in each case, the space worked extremely well for us. And even though Bere was out of the country during our stay, she immediately responded by email to every one of our questions with great enthusiasm and detail. We hope to return to her apartment for a longer stay in the future.

Berenice was a beyond wonderful hosts. She went above and beyond providing us with information about the apartment and the city and even reaching out to friends to inquire about things for us. She was soo accomodating and let us check-in early as our flight arrived very early. We were blown away by the apartment. The description does not give it justice - it was spacious and decorated with love. We were even greeted with some pastries and fruit in the kitchen. The kitchen had all any cook could have wished for. I cannot recommend enough to stay with Berenice and we hope to be back in Mexico City soon again.

Berenice's apartment was the perfect spot for our one-month stay in Mexico City. First, the apartment itself was wonderful; spacious, quiet (for an apartment), immaculate and very comfortable. I loved both the layout of the apartment and the architecture of the building. Second, the location could not have been better. I loved the tree-lined streets of Condesa with its wonderful mix of buildings and shops (butcher, baker, tortilleria, etc.) and its proximity to Chapultapec park, the Metro and bikeshare stations. Everything Berenice said about this apartment is true. I just hope it will be available for my next trip to CDMX!

Berenice's place is terrific. It's quiet, spacious, interesting and well equipped. Berenice's mother left us some fruit, croissants and beer as a welcome, which we appreciated a lot. The neighbourhood is great, easy to walk in and with excellent restaurants. We had everything we needed and would love to come back.

We had amazing 3 nights at Berenice's place. The location is great with metro being in short walking distance and some helpful stores around. Inside is also great with a super kitchen, nice sleeping and bedroom and even Netflix if you want to relax an evening. Besides the cosy and very nicely decorated apartment, we also appreciated the availability, flexibility and sympathy of our host and her mother.

The apartment is in the best location you could imagine. Just around the corner is Lardo, one of my fav places to eat. If you need a good sleep and like to cook, relax or work, this is the perfect place. Very quiet at night. Safe area to walk. Great little street market on Tuesday.
